Roger Wilfred Davis (born June 23, 1938) is a former professional American football player who played offensive lineman for seven seasons for the Chicago Bears, the Los Angeles Rams, and the New York Giants. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. The 1960 National Football League Draft in which NFL teams take turns selecting amateur college American football players and other first-time eligible players, was held at the Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia on November 30, 1959. Kyle Long
Kyle Howard Long (born December 5, 1988) is an American football guard who is a free agent. The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long and the younger brother of former defensive end Chris Long. He played college football at Oregon following stints with Florida State and Saddleback. He was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, where he played his first seven seasons. During his Bears tenure, Long received three consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2013 to 2015 and one second-team All-Pro selection in 2014. After retiring in 2019, he returned with the Chiefs for the 2021 season. Early years Long was born in Ivy, Virginia. He attended St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
