Robert Hanson (priest)
The Venerable Robert Edward Vernon Hanson, OBE, MA (29 March 1866 – 7 February 1947), was an eminent Anglican Chaplain in the first half of the 20th century. Hanson was born on 29 March 1866 and educated at King's College London and Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He was ordained in 1895 and after a curacy at St John's, Richmond, joined the Army Chaplains' Department as Chaplain to the Forces (4th class, ranking as captain) on 10 December 1900. He was a Chaplain to the British Armed Forces and instructor until 1918. He served in the South African War and in Aldershot, Egypt, Dublin, Deepcut, Malta and the Great War where he was mentioned in despatches. He joined the fledgling RAF Chaplaincy Service as Assistant Chief Chaplain and became its Archdeacon (Chaplain-in-Chief) in 1926. Robert Louis Hansen II (born January 18, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player. A guard, he played nine seasons (1983–1992) in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Hansen is currently a commentator for Iowa Hawkeyes basketball broadcasts. Early years Hansen attended Christ The King Elementary school and was a four-year starter at West Des Moines Dowling High School in the late 1970s. As a senior, he averaged 26 points and eleven rebounds per game to lead his team to an Iowa Class 4-A boys' basketball championship in 1979. University of Iowa His success in high school made him a prized recruit for head coach Lute Olson and the Iowa Hawkeyes, where Hansen played a key role on the team that reached the 1980 Final Four. Robert Joseph Hansen (born May 26, 1948) is an American former professional first baseman who played in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1974 and 1976. Biography A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Hansen played at the collegiate level at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. From 1966 to 1969, he played four seasons of collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL), three with the Cotuit Kettleers, and a final season with the Orleans Cardinals, and was a three-time CCBL all-star. Hansen was selected by the Seattle Pilots in the twenty-first round of the 1969 Major League Baseball Draft. He remained in the organization through its move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become the Milwaukee Brewers. During his time with the Brewers, he played at the major league level in 1974 and 1976, posting a career batting average of .242 in 158 plate appearances over 82 games.
