Ritual De Lo Habitual
''Ritual de lo Habitual'' is the second studio album by Jane's Addiction, released on August 21, 1990, by Warner Brothers. Co-produced by Dave Jerden, it was the band's final studio album before their initial break-up in 1991. Singles from ''Ritual de lo Habitual'' include "Been Caught Stealing" and " Stop!". ''Ritual de lo Habitual'' is certified 2× Platinum in the U.S. In 1990, one month after its release, the album had sold 500,000 units. Music The album is divided into halves. Tracks 1 through 5 are hard rock songs unrelated to each other. Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985. The band consists of vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery. Jane's Addiction was one of the first bands from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain both mainstream media attention and commercial success in the United States. Founded by Farrell and Avery, following the disintegration of Farrell's previous band Psi Com, Jane's Addiction's first release was a self-titled live album, '' Jane's Addiction'' (1987), which caught the attention of Warner Bros. Three Days (Jane's Addiction Song)
"Three Days" is a song on Jane's Addiction's 1990 album, ''Ritual de lo Habitual''. It is a three-part song that meditates on death and rebirth. The guitar solo by Dave Navarro was ranked as number 100 in '' Guitar World''s "100 best guitar solos" article. Lyrical meaning The song was inspired by Xiola Blue, a friend of Perry Farrell, who came to Los Angeles, possibly around the time of her father's funeral and spent three days with Farrell and his partner Casey Niccoli, in a "haze of sex and drugs". Blue was also the muse behind ''Xiola'', a song recorded by Farrell's first band Psi-Com. Xiola died aged 18 of a heroin overdose in New York City, June 1987. The song was released under the single name "Ian Dury", but three members of the Blockheads appear on the record – the song's co-writer and guitarist Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy on bass and drummer Charlie Charles. Dave Navarro
David Michael Navarro (born June 7, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is best known as a member of the rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Between 1993 and 1998, Navarro was the guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, recording one studio album, '' One Hot Minute'' (1995), before departing. He has also released one solo album, '' Trust No One'' (2001). Navarro has also been a member of Jane's Addiction-related bands Deconstruction and the Panic Channel. Eric Adam Avery (born April 25, 1965) is an American musician. He is best known as the founding bass guitarist and co-songwriter of the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded two studio albums. Klezmer
Klezmer ( yi, קלעזמער or ) is an instrumental musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Central and Eastern Europe. Progressive Rock
