Rising Stars Cricket Team
The Rising Stars were a Zimbabwean first-class cricket team that was formed in 2017. They played their home matches at Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield, Harare. The team was founded by Zimbabwe's former Test cricket captain Tatenda Taibu. They played in Zimbabwe's domestic cricket competitions, starting with the 2017–18 Logan Cup. In October 2017, they lost their opening first-class fixture in the Logan Cup to the Mid West Rhinos by 7 wickets. Despite the loss, Zimbabwe's former captain Brendan Taylor praised the team saying that they have some excellent bowlers and deserve their first-class status. Later the same month, in the third round of fixtures, they won their maiden first-class match, beating Matabeleland Tuskers by 268 runs. Tarisai Musakanda
Tarisai Musakanda (born 31 October 1994) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He was part of Zimbabwe's squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Domestic career He made his List A debut in 2014 and his first-class debut in the same year. Eddie Byrom
Edward James Byrom (born 17 June 1997) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. Byrom qualifies to play for the Zimbabwe cricket team, as his place of birth, and for the Ireland cricket team, due to holding an Irish passport. Career Byrom made his first-class debut for Somerset in the 2017 County Championship on 26 June 2017. He scored his maiden first-class half-century in the final match of the season against Middlesex to help Somerset to victory and Division One survival. In October 2017, he signed for the Zimbabwean domestic team the Rising Stars, allowing him to play in the 2017–18 Logan Cup. In his first match for the Rising Stars, he made 152 in the second innings against Matabeleland Tuskers in Harare, his maiden first-class century. Milton Shumba (born 19 October 2000) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Zimbabwe against Eastern Province in the 2016 Africa T20 Cup on 30 September 2016. Blessing Muzarabani (born 2 October 1996) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Rising Stars in the 2017–18 Logan Cup on 4 October 2017. William Takudzwa Mashinge (born 6 October 1996) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who has represented the Mountaineers in Zimbabwean domestic cricket.
