Ridley College
Ridley College (also known as RC, Ridley) is a private school, private boarding school, boarding and day university-preparatory school located in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, 20 miles (32 km) from Niagara Falls. The school confers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and the International Baccalaureate diploma programme. Ridley is one of the oldest private schools in Canada, and has the largest boarding program in Ontario, with students representing over 61 countries. Established as an Anglican-affiliated all-boys school in 1889, Ridley became coeducational in 1973. The school is divided into ten houses, each of which serves as a residence and community for its students. Viscount Ridley
Viscount Ridley is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1900 for the Conservative politician Sir Matthew White Ridley, 5th Baronet, Home Secretary from 1895 to 1900. He was made Baron Wensleydale, of Blagdon and Blyth in the County of Northumberland, at the same time, also in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The latter title was a revival of the barony held by his maternal grandfather James Parke, Baron Wensleydale, whose title became extinct upon his death since none of his sons survived him. Lord Ridley was succeeded by his son, the second Viscount. He represented Stalybridge in the House of Commons. His son, the third Viscount, was Chairman of Northumberland County Council. The latter's son, the fourth Viscount, succeeded in 1965. Ridley Bikes was started in 1997 by Jochim Aerts, a frame builder and painter who had been producing frames for Belgian bicycle companies since 1990. In a few years, Ridley became the market leader in Belgium for racing bikes. They are the main bike sponsors for team Lotto–Soudal. Ridley boasts of having developed the fastest time trial machines in the world with the types Dean and Noah, which were created after intensive wind tunnel tests. These tests led to findings for a new wheel series, the future aero speed technology - FAST for the road. Before 2001, Race Productions NV started developing and selling wheel components such as saddles, handlebars, wheels, etc. under the brand name 4ZA-FORZA. Ridley Township is a township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The population was 30,768 at the 2010 census. Ridley Township contains the census designated places of Folsom and Woodlyn along with the unincorporated communities of Crum Lynne and Holmes and a portion of Secane. History Ridley Township derives its name from Ridley, Cheshire, England, from where John Simcock, one of the original settlers, emigrated. The first mention of Ridley in court records is from 1684 when tax collectors were appointed for the township. During the Revolutionary War, Ridley was traversed by both the Continental Army and the British Army. Ridley is a place and former civil parish, now in the parish of Ash-cum-Ridley, in the Sevenoaks district, in the county of Kent, England. It lies between Sevenoaks and Chatham.. Ash and Ridley were formerly separate parishes. Both were part of Dartford Rural District and Axstane Hundred. Ridley is situated upon chalk hills, much like that of neighbouring Hartley. Ridley, Cheshire
Ridley is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, which lies to the north east of Malpas and to the west of Nantwich. The parish is largely rural with scattered farms and buildings and no significant settlements. In 2001, the population was a little over 100. Nearby villages include Bulkeley, Bunbury, Faddiley, Peckforton and Spurstow. At the 2011 Census the population had fallen less than 100. Details are included in the civil parish of Peckforton. Governance Ridley is administered jointly with Bulkeley by the Bulkeley & Ridley Parish Council.
