Riccardo Carapellese
Riccardo Carapellese (; 1 July 1922 – 20 October 1995) was an Italian football manager and player who played as a striker. Club career Carapellese started his career in the 1942–43 season with Spezia in Serie B where he played 19 games and scored 3 goals. After a stint with Como, he debuted in Serie A with Milan, in which he remained until 1949 and gained a place in the national team. In the 1949–50 season, after the Grande Torino Superga tragedy, he was acquired by Torino, inheriting the captain's armband from Valentino Mazzola. In 1952 he moved to Torino's cross-city rivals Juventus, playing for the ''Bianconeri'' for only a season, after which he went to Genoa. In 1957 he returned to Serie B with Catania where he ended his career in 1959. In total, he played 318 matches throughout his career and scored 111 goals. Carlo Annovazzi (; 24 May 1925 – 10 October 1980) was an Italian footballer who played as a midfielder. He was usually deployed as a right-sided, central, or defensive midfielder, although he was also capable of playing in defence. A large and physically imposing player, despite his deeper playing role, he was known for his eye for goal as a footballer, and was also an accurate penalty kick taker; during his time with A.C. 1950 FIFA World Cup
The 1950 FIFA World Cup was the fourth edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams and held in Brazil from 24 June to 16 July 1950. The planned 1942 and 1946 World Cups were cancelled due to World War II. This tournament ended the hiatus. Uruguay, who had won the inaugural competition in 1930, defeated the host nation, Brazil, in the deciding match of the four-team group of the final round. This was the only tournament not decided by a one-match final. Valentino Mazzola
Valentino Mazzola (; 26 January 1919 – 4 May 1949) was an Italian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. Considered one of the great number 10s in the history of football and, according to some, the best Italian footballer of all time, Mazzola was the captain and symbol of the " Grande Torino", the team recognised as one of the strongest in the world during the second half of the 1940s, with whom Mazzola won five Serie A championships. He was also captain of the Italian national team for two years. He became known during his spell at Venezia, where he played as a midfielder, a playing position he held throughout his career that allowed him to expand his fame beyond Italy.
