''Red Sky at Morning'' is a 1971 American drama film based on the 1968 Richard Bradford novel of the same name. James Goldstone
James Goldstone (June 8, 1931 – November 5, 1999) was an American film and television director whose career spanned over thirty years. Career Goldstone was noted for the momentum and "fifteen-minute cliffhangers" that he brought to TV pilots such as ''Star Trek'' ("Where No Man Has Gone Before", 1966), '' Ironside'', and '' The Bold Ones: The Senator''. His later career helped pioneer the concept of "thirty-second attention span" pacing over detailed content in his dramatizations of Rita Hayworth, Calamity Jane, and the Kent State shootings for which he won the Emmy. He directed several feature films, including the large-scale suspense ''Rollercoaster'' (1977). History The award was first introduced at the 6th Golden Globe Awards in 1948, where it was given to actor Richard Widmark for his performance in the 1947 film ''Kiss of Death''. It was awarded as the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Male until 1975. There were no awards in 1949, and between 1954 and 1965 there were multiple winners. From 1976 to 1979, the award was called Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture – Male. From 1980 to 1983, the award was called New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture – Male. A male actor did not receive the Award in 1982. The final recipient of the award was actor Ben Kingsley for his performance as the title character in the 1982 film '' Gandhi''. Joaquin Garay (November 15, 1911 – September 13, 1990) was a Mexican actor and singer known for voicing Panchito Pistoles in the 1944 Walt Disney film ''The Three Caballeros''. Career Born in El Oro, Mexico, Garay came to America at eleven months. He was a well-known radio performer in the 1940s, and opened the popular Copacabana nightclub in September 1941, which was frequented by visiting Hollywood celebrities. He hosted shows in the nightclub and performed in vaudeville, and recorded an album in the mid-40s, "A Night at Joaquin Garay's Copacabana". Pepe Serna (born July 23, 1944) is an American film and television actor and artist. Serna's first break in movies came in 1970 on the Roger Corman directed film '' The Student Nurses''. Over the years Serna has appeared in over 100 films. In the blockbuster comedy ''The Jerk'', he appeared as a lowrider-driving criminal who cons a naive Steve Martin out of money and new tires. Perhaps his most notable role was in '' Scarface'' directed by Brian De Palma. Serna played Tony Montana's friend Angel Fernandez, who is dismembered with a chainsaw in the film's most famous scene. Strother Douglas Martin Jr. (March 26, 1919 – August 1, 1980) was an American character actor who often appeared in support of John Wayne and Paul Newman and in Western films directed by John Ford and Sam Peckinpah. John Colicos (December 10, 1928 – March 6, 2000) was a Canadian actor. He performed on stage and television in the United States and Canada. Career Colicos was born in Toronto, Ontario, to a Greek father and a Canadian mother. In 1957 he appeared in ''Mary Stuart'' at the Phoenix Theatre in New York City and in 1963 he appeared in ''Troilus and Cressida'' at the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
