''Raw'' is the debut album by American singer Alyson Williams, released in 1989 on the Def Jam Recordings record label. It contains the singles "Sleep Talk" (UK Singles Chart, UK No. 17) "My Love Is So Raw" (UK No. 34) and "I Need Your Lovin'" (UK No. 8). Critical reception In a retrospective review for AllMusic, Craig Lytle gave the album four out of five stars, saying that "[Williams] comes up with one outstanding effort after another as she covers the spectrum of R&B, jazz, dance, and rap." An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. Dennis Davis
Dennis Davis (August 28, 1949 – April 6, 2016) was an American drummer and session musician best known for his work with David Bowie, playing on ten albums - including seven successive studio albums - during the singer's classic mid- and late- seventies period, and on many hit singles, starting with " Fame" (1975). Early life and military service Davis was born and raised in Manhattan, New York City, and studied with drummers Max Roach and Elvin Jones before joining the Clark Terry Big Band in 1967. He joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Rowan (DD-782) from 1969 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. He was discharged from the U.S Navy in 1970 in San Diego, California. He was wounded during his military service, but was able to hone his skills when he performed as part of the US Navy's Drum and Bugle Corps. Jerome Najee Rasheed (born November 4, 1957, New York City), known professionally as Najee, is an American Jazz-Smooth Jazz saxophonist and flautist. Early life Najee was born in the lower west side of Manhattan in New York City and lived his teenage years in Queens, New York. His father died at a young age, and Najee and siblings were raised by his mother Mary Richards. His mother was an important figure and supporter throughout his life and musical career. Vincent Henry (born November 1953) is an American saxophonist and guitarist who plays jazz and R&B. Career Henry was born in New York and grew up in Harlem. He started venturing out to concerts and clubs on his own when he was 14. In the early 1980s, he was part of the disco group Change. He also played with Johnny Kemp on his 1987 album '' Secrets of Flying'', including taking a significant role shaping the R&B top five hit, "Dancin' with Myself" (the follow-up to the album's massive first hit, " Just Got Paid"). Max Ehrmann (September 26, 1872 – September 9, 1945) was an American writer, poet, and attorney from Terre Haute, Indiana, widely known for his 1927 prose poem "Desiderata" (Latin: "things desired"). Michael Wayne Campbell (born February 1, 1950) is an American guitarist. He was a member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and co-wrote many of the band's hits with Petty, including " Refugee", "Here Comes My Girl", " You Got Lucky", and "Runnin' Down a Dream". Outside of The Heartbreakers, he has worked as a session guitarist and songwriter with a number of other acts, including composing and playing on the Don Henley hit " The Boys of Summer", as well as working on most of Stevie Nicks's solo albums.
