Ranu Devi Adhikari
Ranu Devi Adhikari ( ne, रानुदेवी अधिकारी) (27 November 1936 – 30 April 2020) was a singer of Nepal. She was also one of the prominent leaders of the Nepali Congress party. She was the first female singer of Radio Nepal Radio Nepal ( ne, रेडियो नेपाल) is the state-owned Radio broadcasting organisation of Nepal. It was established 2 April 1951. Radio Nepal airs programs on short wave, medium wave (AM broadcasting, AM) and FM broadcasting, FM .... She used to sing revolutionary songs like "Jaago Nepali" on radio Nepal, to ignite fire in the hearts of the Nepalese people during the times of oppression. Birgunj
Birgunj ( ne, वीरगञ्ज) is a metropolitan city in Parsa District in Madhesh Province of southern Nepal. It lies south of the capital Kathmandu, attached in the north to Raxaul in the border of the Indian state of Bihar. As an entry point to Nepal from Patna, Birgunj is known as the "Gateway of Nepal". It is also called "Commercial capital of Nepal". The town has significant economic importance for Nepal as most of the trade with India is via Birgunj and the Indian town of Raxaul. Radio Nepal ( ne, रेडियो नेपाल) is the state-owned Radio broadcasting organisation of Nepal. It was established 2 April 1951. Radio Nepal airs programs on short wave, medium wave (AM broadcasting, AM) and FM broadcasting, FM frequencies. Regular broadcasts consume sixteen hours every day, including two hours of regional broadcasts. Public holidays feature an additional two hours. Yuvaraj Adhikari
Yuvaraj Adhikari ( ne, युवराज अधिकारी) (1920-1983) was a Nepalese politician belonging to the Nepali Congress Party (NCP) . He was in the forefront of the leaders who took part in 1947 Biratnagar jute mill strike along with Girija Prasad Koirala, Tarini Prasad Koirala, Man Mohan Adhikari He was among the six National Congress leaders i.e. Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Girija Prasad Koirala, Tarini Prasad Koirala, Gehendrahari Sharma, Manmohan Adhikari who were taken to Kathmandu as the prisoners of conscience from Biratnagar via the land routes. It took 24 days for them to reach Kathmandu on foot, and was jailed at a Sundarijal-based prison after completing the walk. He was in active role in and after abolition of Rana rule.
