Radio In Colombia
Radio in Colombia started in the early 1920s when a group of radio amateurs and enthusiasts brought the first receivers to the country, mostly in order to listen broadcasts from Europe and the United States. Broadcasting started in September 1929, with state-owned HJN, predecessor of Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia, and privately run La Voz de Barranquilla (HKD). As of 2011, Colombia has three major national radio networks: state-run Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia and private networks Caracol Radio and RCN Radio, with hundreds of affiliates. These networks appeared in the 1940s. Radio is the technology of signaling and communicating using radio waves. Radio waves are electromagnetic waves of frequency between 30 hertz (Hz) and 300 gigahertz (GHz). Radio Amateur
An amateur radio operator is someone who uses equipment at an amateur radio station to engage in two-way personal communications with other amateur operators on radio frequencies assigned to the amateur radio service. Amateur radio operators have been granted an amateur radio license by a governmental regulatory authority after passing an examination on applicable regulations, electronics, radio theory, and radio operation. As a component of their license, amateur radio operators are assigned a call sign that they use to identify themselves during communication. About three million amateur radio operators are currently active worldwide. Amateur radio operators are also known as radio amateurs or hams. The term "ham" as a nickname for amateur radio operators originated in a pejorative usage (like "ham actor") by operators in commercial and professional radio communities, and dates to wired telegraphy. Radiodifusora Nacional De Colombia
Radio Nacional de Colombia ("Colombian National Radio") is a Colombian state-owned public radio network, part of Señal Colombia RTVC. It was launched – as Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia – on 1 February 1940, three years after closure of the country's first state-owned radio station, HJN. Between 1954 and 1963, Radiodifusora Nacional was also responsible for National Television, then the only television network in the country. As of 2019, the network broadcasts news and information from state and other institutional agencies in addition to coverage of all aspects of Colombian culture in programmes grouped under the heading ''Colombiología'', with the motto ''Colombiología al aire'' ("Colombiology on the air"). ''Semana'' (Spanish: ''Week'') is a weekly magazine in Colombia. History ''Semana'' was founded in 1946 by Alberto Lleras Camargo (who would become president of Colombia in 1958) and that folded in 1961. It was relaunched by journalist Felipe López Caballero in 1983. Development , the person who restarted the magazine, took two earlier Colombian magazines as models. One was Camargo's ''Semana''; the other was '' :es:Alternativa'', a left-wing weekly published by Enrique Santos and Gabriel García Márquez. The foreign magazines that he strove to imitate were ''Time'' and ''Newsweek''. Recalling the prestige that had been enjoyed by Lleras's magazine, López asked for, and was given, permission to use the same name. The first issue came out on 12 May 12 1982. There are two types of radio network currently in use around the world: the one-to-many (simplex communication) broadcast network commonly used for public information and mass media, mass-media entertainment, and the two-way radio (Duplex (telecommunications), duplex communication) type used more commonly for public safety and public services such as police, fire, taxicabs, and delivery services. Cell phones are able to send and receive simultaneously by using two different frequencies at the same time. Many of the same components and much of the same basic technology applies to all three. Organización Radial Olímpica (ORO) is a Colombian group of radio stations, which belongs to the wealthy and influential Char Abdalá family from Barranquilla. It started in 1969 with the purchase of Radio Regalo AM of Barranquilla, which would be renamed Radio Olímpica AM, after the homonymous chain of supermarkets and drugstores created by the Chars. Olímpica expanded first in AM in the Caribbean coast, later moving some of its stations to FM. In 1985 it would set their first station in Bogotá.
