Francis James Rosa (November 7, 1920January 4, 2012) was an American sports journalist. He worked for ''The Boston Globe'' from 1949 to 1991, became the paper's morning sports editor in 1966, and helped build it into a leading sports publisher. He covered the Boston Bruins during their Stanley Cup championships in 1970 and 1972, and was considered "one of the family" by team general manager Harry Sinden. Rosa received the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award in recognition of his journalism from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. Noel de Medeiros Rosa (December 11, 1910 – May 4, 1937) was a Brazilian singer-songwriter. One of the greatest names in Brazilian popular music, Noel gave a new twist to samba, combining its Afro-Brazilian roots with a more urban, witty language and making it a vehicle for ironic social commentary. Early life Rosa was born in Rio de Janeiro into a middle-class family of the Vila Isabel neighbourhood. An accident with a forceps at his birth caused a disfigured chin. Marco Rosa (born January 15, 1982) is a Canadian-born Italian professional ice hockey center who plays currently for Asiago of the Alps Hockey League. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario. Sellappuliyage Lucian Benedict Rosa (better known as SLB Rosa, born February 11, 1944) is a Sri Lankan former long-distance runner. He represented Sri Lanka at the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany. He is best known for running barefooted and winning a 5000 metres and the 10,000 metres double at the 1970 Asian Games held in Bangkok, Thailand. His performance in 10,000 metres was also an Asian Games record. At the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1966, he won the bronze medal in both 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. Kacper Rosa (born 13 August 1994) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Senior career Rosa started his youth career with the club in his home town of Kostrzyn nad Odrą.
