Roger Garrett (snooker Player)
Roger Garrett is an English former professional snooker player. Career Garrett turned professional in 1992. Prior to his joining the tour, he had notably compiled a total clearance directly from his break-off, scoring 140 at a tournament at Ilford Snooker Centre, believed to have been the first such clearance on record. In his first season, he reached the last 64 at the 1993 Asian Open; in qualifying, he had beaten eight players, including a 5–3 defeat of Rod Lawler in the last 96. Garrett was eliminated by Ken Doherty, who whitewashed him 5–0. In the 1993/1994 season, Garrett again reached the last 64 at one ranking event, on this occasion the 1993 Grand Prix. He defeated Elliott Clark 5–3, Yasin Merchant 5–4, Paul Gibson 5–1, Jimmy Michie 5–2 and Tony Chappel 5–0, to face the Canadian Alain Robidoux. Rod Lawler
Rod Lawler (born 12 July 1971) is an English retired professional snooker player. He is noted for his slow playing style which gave rise to his nickname, "Rod the Plod". After turning professional in 1990, Lawler has reached one ranking tournament final—the 1996 International Open—where he lost 3–9 to John Higgins, and has won one minor-ranking tournament – Event 3 of the Players Tour Championship 2012/2013, 2012/2013 Players Tour Championship – where he defeated Marco Fu 4–2 in the final. Ken Doherty
Kenneth Joseph Doherty (born 17 September 1969) is an Irish professional snooker player who also works as a commentator and pundit on televised snooker broadcasts. From Ranelagh in Dublin, he is the sport's only World Snooker Championship, world champion from the Republic of Ireland, having won the title in 1997, and one of only five players from outside the United Kingdom to have won the title in the modern era. He was the first player to have won the world amateur and world professional title; Doherty was previously world U-21 champion. Yasin Merchant (born 17 December 1966) is India's second professional snooker player. The late Omprakesh Agrawal was the first. Merchant won the National Snooker championships on 3 occasions, in 2001, 2000 and 1991He was honoured by Khar Gymkhana which has named its snooker hall after him as Yasin Merchant Snooker Hall. Jimmy Michie
Jimmy Michie (pronounced "Mickey"; born 4 August 1971) is an English former professional snooker player from Pontefract, Yorkshire, and a two-time WPBSA ranking tournament semi-finalist, who has also reached the World Snooker Championship. Michie has been described as "charismatic" by the snooker press. Career In the 2006/2007 season Michie was ranked only 61, for the first of two successive seasons, having failed to do better than the last-48 (third round) in ranking tournaments, although he did get that far twice that season. Tony Chappel
Tony Chappel (born 28 May 1960) is a former Welsh professional snooker player, whose career spanned seventeen years from 1984 to 2001. Career Tony Chappel was born in Wales, on 28 May 1960. He started playing snooker aged 14. He reached the final of the 1974 Welsh Boys' Championship, won the title in 1976, and retained it in 1977. He was also runner-up in the Welsh Youth Championship in 1977. In 1982 he became an "apprentice professional" employed by the Mackworth Billiards company, where he was coached by Terry Griffiths, the 1979 World Snooker Champion. That year, he defeated professional Cliff Wilson in the final of a pro-am tournament at Ealing Snooker Centre. Alain Robidoux
Alain Robidoux (born July 25, 1960) is a Canadian retired professional snooker player. Robidoux played on the sport's main tour from 1987 to 2004 and reached the final of the 1996 German Open, which he lost 7–9 to Ronnie O'Sullivan. Career Robidoux was born on 25 July 1960 in Canada. He joined the professional snooker circuit in the 1987–88 snooker season as a "non-tournament" professional. This entitled him to play only in the World Championship. He amassed enough points in the 1988 World Championship qualifiers to finish in the top 128 players, which allowed him to join the tour full-time. Stephen Lee (born 12 October 1974) is an English former professional snooker player. He turned professional in 1992, reached a career-high of fifth in the snooker world rankings for the 2000–01 season, and won five ranking titles. Dave Harold
David William Harold (born 9 December 1966) is an English former professional snooker player from Stoke-on-Trent. He was known by the nicknames of "the Hard Man" and "the Stoke Potter" (conflating his home city's pottery industry and his profession of potting snooker balls). He was also the first player on the television circuit to sport a plaster on his chin as a guide for his cue, which is a practice now adopted by Graeme Dott. As an amateur he played as David Harold, but after turning professional in 1991 he was registered as Dave Harold. He won one ranking title, reached two further finals and several semi-finals, and spent four seasons ranked among the top 16.
