Ridin' Thunder
''Ridin' Thunder'' is a 1925 American silent Western film directed by Clifford Smith and starring Jack Hoxie John Hartford Hoxie (January 11, 1885 – March 28, 1965) was an American rodeo performer and motion-picture actor whose career was most prominent in the silent film era of the 1910s through the 1930s. Hoxie is best recalled for his roles in ..., Katherine Grant, and Francis Ford. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Frank Douglas creates a situation while shooting at a coyote that crosses his path, leading to his being accused and convicted of murdering a mysterious outlaw. His son Jack loves Jean, the daughter of the murdered outlaw. The tragedy of situations befalls the lovers, and then the real slayer is run down. Clifford Smith (director)
Clifford Smith (1894–1937) was an American film director who also occasionally acted and produced. He directed over eighty films between 1915 and 1937 as well as several serials, doing much of his work for Universal Pictures. Primarily a director of westerns he worked with leading genre stars such as William S. Hart. Broderick O'Farrell
George William Broderick O'Farrell (July 13, 1882 — September 2, 1955) was an American film and stage actor who appeared in both silent and sound films. He began his career at age 14, appearing onstage with the Baker Stock Company in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. He subsequently appeared in several locally-produced films, such as '' The Golden Trail'' (1920), before pursuing a film career in Los Angeles. He appeared in numerous silent films throughout the 1920s, and later had minor roles in several Laurel and Hardy films, including '' Beau Hunks'' (1931). O'Farrell had minor bit parts throughout the 1940s, often appearing as conductors, doctors, and coroners in a variety of films. William McCall (May 19, 1870 – January 10, 1938), was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 190 films between 1918 and 1938. He was born in Delavan, Illinois, and died in Hollywood, California. McCall acted on stage before he began working in film for Vitagraph. During his early film activity he was credited as Billy McCall, and he performed primarily in comic roles in farces, including ''Huns and Hyphens'' (1918) and ''Frauds and Frenzies'' (1918). Later, as William McCall, he acted in serials and Westerns. He continued in films through the introduction of sound, ending his career in 1937.
