Richard Chambers (rower)
Richard Scott Chambers (born 10 June 1985) is a British rower, and is the brother of fellow rower Peter Chambers. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he was part of the British crew that won the silver medal in the lightweight men's four. Biography Richard began rowing at the age of 14, at Coleraine Academical Institution, under the coaching of Bobby Platt. He later left Coleraine Inst and joined Bann Rowing Club Coleraine at the age of 16, and went on to represent Ireland in the junior pair at the 2003 Home Internationals in Cork with Stephen Feeney, under the coaching of Simon Hamilton (Bann Rowing Club). He attended Oxford Brookes University reading Construction Management and rowed for the university boat club, coached by Peter Haining and Richard Spratley. 2011 World Rowing Championships
The 2011 World Rowing Championships were World Rowing Championships that were held from 28 August to 4 September 2011 at Lake Bled, adjoining the Slovenian city of Bled. The annual week-long rowing regatta is organized by World Rowing Federation (FISA), and held at the end of the northern hemisphere summer. Paul Mattick
Paul Mattick Sr. (March 13, 1904 – February 7, 1981) was a German-American Marxist political writer, activist, and theorist, associated with the council communist movement. Throughout his life, Mattick was critical of capitalism, Bolshevism, and Keynesian economics. His work focused on the critique of political economy, crisis theory, and the self-emancipation of the working class. Born in Pomerania, Mattick became politically active during the German Revolution of 1918–1919 as an apprentice at Siemens. Dorney Lake
Dorney Lake (also known as Eton College Rowing Centre, and as Eton Dorney as a 2012 Summer Olympics venue) is a purpose-built rowing lake and Meetings & Events Venue in England. It is near the village of Dorney, Buckinghamshire, and is around 3 km (2 miles) west of Windsor and Eton, close to the River Thames. The lake is privately owned and financed by Eton College, which spent £17 million developing it. Additional grants, totalling £500,000, were obtained from Sport England, UK Sport, the DCMS and SEEDA in order to build the lake's finish tower. The project was completed in 2006, after 10 years of construction. The Hazewinkel is a 2000-meter rowing and regatta course belonging to Sport Vlaanderen in Heindonk, municipality of Willebroek, near Mechelen, Belgium. Christopher Roger Bartley (born 2 February 1984) is a British rower who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. Bann Rowing Club
Bann Rowing Club is a rowing club in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. It is situated on the east bank of the Lower Bann river in Hanover Place south of the Coleraine Bridge. Founded in 1842, Bann is one of the oldest rowing clubs in all of Ireland. The Club competes regularly in national regattas across Ireland including the annual National Championships, Cork. Coleraine Academical Institution
Coleraine Academical Institution (CAI and styled locally as Coleraine Inst) was a voluntary grammar school for boys in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Coleraine Academical Institution occupied a site on the Castlerock Road, where it was founded in 1860. It was, for many years, a boarding school until the boarding department closed in 1999. Peter Chambers (born 14 March 1990) is a British rower, and is the brother of fellow rower Richard Chambers. He is a World Champion in the men's lightweight double sculls and an Olympic silver medalist in the men's lightweight coxless four.
