Resilience (Drowning Pool Album)
''Resilience'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Drowning Pool. It was released on April 9, 2013, and is the first Drowning Pool album recorded with vocalist Jasen Moreno. The album was also made available for download from iTunes and in MP3 format on Amazon. Style and themes The album features a much more aggressive and anthemic sound than their previous material. It is primarily an alternative metal and hard rock album, but with hints of post-grunge. Its lyrical themes include partying ("Saturday Night"), confrontation, resistance, anger (" One Finger and a Fist") and other similar themes. Singles Three singles have been released from the album so far. The first single, "In Memory Of..." was dedicated to their original vocalist Dave Williams and was released on August 14, 2012, on the 10th anniversary of his death. Drowning Pool
Drowning Pool is an American rock band formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1996. The band was named after the 1975 film '' The Drowning Pool''. Since its formation, the band has consisted of guitarist C.J. Pierce, drummer Mike Luce and bassist Stevie Benton, as well as a revolving cast of vocalists. After the release of their debut album, '' Sinner'' (2001), original vocalist Dave Williams was found dead on August 14, 2002, from heart disease. Jason Jones, who replaced Williams in 2003, recorded one album, '' Desensitized'' (2004), but left in 2005 due to musical differences. Ryan McCombs of band SOiL, later replaced Jones and released two albums, '' Full Circle'' (2007) and '' Drowning Pool'' (2010), making it the first time Drowning Pool had not switched singers after just one album. However, McCombs left the band in 2011 to rejoin SOiL. Drowning Pool Albums
Drowning is a type of suffocation induced by the submersion of the mouth and nose in a liquid. Submersion injury refers to both drowning and near-miss incidents. Most instances of fatal drowning occur alone or in situations where others present are either unaware of the victim's situation or unable to offer assistance. After successful resuscitation, drowning victims may experience breathing problems, confusion, or unconsciousness. Occasionally, victims may not begin experiencing these symptoms until several hours after they are rescued. An incident of drowning can also cause further complications for victims due to low body temperature, aspiration, or acute respiratory distress syndrome (respiratory failure from lung inflammation). Ryan McCombs
Ryan McCombs (born July 16, 1974) is an American musician best known for being the vocalist of alternative metal bands Soil and Drowning Pool. Career Soil (1997–2004, 2011–present) McCombs was discovered by Soil through a compilation CD of unsigned bands. He joined the band as lead vocalist in mid-1997. Soil released three albums ('' Throttle Junkies'', '' Scars'' and '' Redefine)'' and two EPs ( ''Soil'' and ''El Chupacabra'') during his time in the group. With heavy anthems like "Halo" and "Unreal", the band gained commercial recognition and international status with their second album, ''Scars'', in 2001. David Wayne Williams (February 29, 1972 – August 14, 2002) was an American singer best known as the original lead vocalist for the rock band Drowning Pool. Biography He grew up in Princeton, Texas, living with his parents Charles Edward and Jo-Ann Williams. He grew up in a pious family which caused him to move away from religion. Notably, he also used to wear a T-shirt that read "Worship Satan and Smoke Crack". He idolized David Lee Roth and Vince Neil for their public personas. In 1999, he joined Drowning Pool, which had formed in 1996 and had previously performed as an instrumental three-piece. The band released their debut album with Williams, '' Sinner'', in 2001. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal.
