Randy Wood was born in 1970, at Hill Air Force Base, Utah and grew up in North Olmsted, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. He is an artist and performer who currently lives in Seattle, Washington. Randolph B. Wood (born October 12, 1963) is a retired American professional ice hockey left winger who spent twelve seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), playing for the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Dallas Stars. Career Wood's father, Norman, served as the head coach of Princeton University's hockey team between 1959 and 1965. Wood was born in Princeton, New Jersey, and grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. Before beginning his professional career in the AHL, he spent three years playing college hockey at Yale University. During the 1986–87 season, Wood played for the Springfield Indians in the AHL, tallying 47 points in 75 games. He was briefly called up to the New York Islanders, scoring one goal in six games. Over the next three years, he moved frequently between the minor league and the Islanders before securing a steady spot on their roster from 1988 to 1992. Randall Albert "Randy" Wood (October 10, 1929 – October 7, 1980) was an American record company executive. As an executive and later President of Vee-Jay Records in the early 1960s, he was involved in the early successes of the Four Seasons, as well as the releases of the first Beatles records in the United States. He later launched several independent record labels including Mira and Mirwood. Life Wood was born in New York City, and started work in a record store in Manhattan before serving in the US Merchant Marine. After working for the Columbia and Folkways labels, he set up his own record store in New York in 1954. Randolph Clay Wood (March 30, 1917 – April 9, 2011) was an American record producer and the founder of Nashville-based Dot Records, one of the most successful independent record labels of the 1950s and 1960s. Early life He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee, the only son of two teachers, and began constructing radio sets as a child. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1941, and served in the US Army Air Forces as a radio engineer during World War II. In 1945, he opened a store in Gallatin, Tennessee selling electrical appliances and some records. After noticing that many teenagers were seeking rhythm and blues records by musicians such as Joe Liggins and Cecil Gant, he started a mail order business for hard-to-find records, in collaboration with Nashville radio DJs Gene Nobles and Bill "Hoss" Allen. Northern Cree
Northern Cree, also known as the Northern Cree Singers, is a powwow and Round Dance drum and singing group based in Maskwacis, Alberta, Canada. Formed in 1982 by Randy Wood, with brothers Charlie and Earl Wood of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation, the group's members originate from the Treaty 6 area. These include Ferlin McGillvary, Steve Wood, Joel Wood, and Conan Yellowbird. Regarded as one of the best acts in modern Native American powwow music, they have been named one of the most respected powwow groups in North America and the world. The group, or their music, has been described as "remarkably unified and powerful," "attention-grabbing," and "energetic." They have been nominated for six Grammy Awards and two Juno Awards.
