Rachel Walker (singer)
Rachel Walker (born 1976) is an English-born singer of Scottish Gaelic folk music, having performed and recorded as a solo artist as well as in bands, such as Skipinnish. Born in Salisbury, she moved to Wester Ross at age eight, and attended Kinlochewe Primary School and Gairloch High School, learning Gaelic song and traditional music. On leaving school, Walker completed a course in Classical music at Napier University and in 1996, she was accepted as one of the first students on the brand new Scottish music course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she studied Gaelic song under the tutelage of the renowned Gaelic singer Kenna Campbell. Rachel Walker Turner (1868–1943), also known as the "Creole Nightingale", was an American soprano. Walker was born in 1868 in Cleveland, Ohio Cleveland ( ), officially the City of Cleveland, is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County. Located in the northeastern part of the state, it is situated along the southern shore of Lake Erie, across the U.S. ... to parents M.L. (Lenyar) and T.W. Turner. ''Operation Transformation'' is a health and fitness programme airing on RTÉ One in Ireland. The show is a cross-media event broadcast via radio, web and television on RTÉ 2fm, RTÉ.ie and RTÉ One (dubbed the three-sixty by Gerry Ryan) since 2008.
