Qatar Football League System
Qatar's football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for association football clubs in Qatar and consists of two divisions which are overseen by the Qatar Football Association (QFA). The Qatar Stars League, previously known as the Q-League, is the top division and currently features 14 teams, whereas the second division features a total of 18 teams, four of which are clubs and fourteen of which are reserve teams. Two clubs are promoted and relegated at the end of each season. There are currently 4 official amateur football leagues in Qatar. Three amateur leagues are under the jurisdiction of the Qatar International Amateur Football League (QIAFL), and the fourth, known as the ''Qatar Amateur League'' (QAL) is recognized by the QFA. Qatar

The Qatar Football Association ( ar, الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم, al-Ittiḥād al-Qaṭariyy li-Kurat al-Qadam) is the governing body of football in Qatar. Qatar Stars League
The Qatar Stars League ( ar, دوري نجوم قطر), or the QSL, also called QNB Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD). Seasons of the QSL usually run from September to April. The league's first season was played in 1963, although the first official season occurred in 1972. The league currently features 12 clubs, with one club being demoted to make room for one club being promoted. The Qatari Second Division ( ar, دوري الدرجة الثانية القطري), QSD or Second Division League, also was known as Qatargas League due to sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of football league competition in Qatar. Contested by 8 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatar Stars League (QSL). Seasons of the QSD run from September to April. The league's first season was played in 1979 which was won by Al-Ittihad. The club with the most QSD wins is Al-Markhiya which has won 5 QSD titles The league currently features 8 clubs, with one club being promoted to make room for one club being relegated.
