''Purple'' (stylized on the cover art in its Chinese character ''紫'') is the second studio album by the American rock band Stone Temple Pilots, released on June 7, 1994, by Atlantic Records. The album, building on the foundation laid by the band's debut album ''Core'', was a huge success for the band, selling 252,000 copies in its first week and debuting at number one on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart and remaining there for three weeks, eventually selling over six million copies. It spawned a number of successful singles — " Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song" both topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and hit number 2 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, while " Big Empty" also cracked the top ten on both charts. Stone Temple Pilots (also known by the initialism STP) is an American rock band from San Diego, California, that originally consisted of Scott Weiland (lead vocals), brothers Dean (guitar) and Robert DeLeo (bass, backing vocals), and Eric Kretz (drums). The band's lineup remained unchanged from its formation in 1989 until the firing of Weiland in February 2013. Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington joined the band in May 2013 but left amicably in November 2015. Pretty Penny
"Pretty Penny" is a 1995 promo single from Stone Temple Pilots' 1994 album ''Purple''. It differs greatly in style from the rest of the songs on the album, and serves as a calm, old-fashioned interlude between the distorted and delirious "Still Remains" and the aggressive, sinister "Silvergun Superman". According to lead vocalist Scott Weiland, this song was his last desperate attempt to prove to himself that he was not a drug addict. His drug addiction later became a huge problem for the band and led to two hiatuses and, ultimately, his death. ''The Crow'' is a 1994 American superhero film directed by Alex Proyas, written by David J. Schow and John Shirley. The Crow (soundtrack)
The soundtrack to the superhero film '' The Crow'' was released in 1994. Album information The album featured covers, including Nine Inch Nails who covered Joy Division's "Dead Souls", Pantera who covered Poison Idea's "The Badge", and Rollins Band who covered Suicide's "Ghost Rider", which is about a Marvel Comics character. Rage Against the Machine re-recorded their 1991 B-side "Darkness of Greed" and renamed it "Darkness" for this soundtrack.
