Prince Frederick Henry Louis of Prussia (german: link=no, Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig; 18 January 1726 – 3 August 1802) was a Prussian general, statesman, and diplomat. He was a son of King Frederick William I of Prussia and Princess Sophia Dorothea of Hanover, and the younger brother of Frederick the Great. Prince Henry led Prussian armies in the Silesian Wars and the Seven Years' War, having never lost a battle in the latter. In 1786, he was suggested as a candidate for a monarch for the United States. Biography Born in Berlin, Henry was the 13th child of King Frederick William I of Prussia and Princess Sophia Dorothea of Hanover. Prince Frederick Henry Charles of Prussia (german: Friedrich Heinrich Karl, 30 December 1747 – 26 May 1767) was the second son of Prince Augustus William, the brother of Frederick the Great. His older brother was Frederick William II of Prussia. Biography In his early life, the prince received several military promotions and honours; on 16 January 1748 he became a member of the Order of the Black Eagle, and on 20 September 1764 he became captain and company commander of the 1st Battalion Guard of the Gardes du Corps. In September later that year he was raised to commander, and on 26 April 1767 he was made Major General by Frederick II. At the age of 17, Colonel Hans von Blumenthal, commander of the Gardes du Corps, became the prince's governor. As a result, he and his brother Frederick William spent much time at the Colonel's estate at Paretz. Prince Frederick Henry Charles of Prussia (german: Friedrich Heinrich Karl; 30 December 1781, Berlin - 12 July 1846, Rome) was a Prussian prince and army officer. Life Henry was a son of Frederick William II of Prussia (1744-1797) by his second wife Frederika Louisa (1751-1805), daughter of Louis IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt. Henry entered the army on 5 September 1795 as a fähnrich in the Life Company of the 1st Guards Battalion. He also served as an oberst during the 1806-07 campaign against Napoleon - at Auerstadt he was loaned a horse by Gerhard von Scharnhorst after Henry's horse was killed under him. In 1807 he was made commander of the "von Schöning" Infantry Regiment. In the 1813 campaign he was on the headquarters staff of the Russian general Peter Wittgenstein.
