James Taggart Priestley
James Taggart Priestley II (April 7, 1903 – February 9, 1979) was a senior surgeon at the Mayo Clinic and a pioneer of pancreatectomy. Biography At the University of Pennsylvania, he graduated with a B.A. in 1923, and an M.D. in 1926. From 1926 to 1928 he was a medical intern in surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. As a fellow in surgery at the Mayo Medical School (now known as the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine), he earned an M.Sc. in experimental surgery in 1931, followed by a Ph.D. in surgery in 1932. At the Mayo Clinic, he became a staff member in 1933 and the head of a section of surgery in 1934, retaining the post for then next 34 years. During World War II, he served as an officer in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army. Priestley was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the oak leaf cluster for his services during the war. Robert Priestley (cricketer)
Robert Hugh Priestley (23 November 1911 – 30 November 2007) was an English first-class cricketer. Priestly was born at Maida Vale to Hugh Priestley and his wife, Elizabeth Grainger Hall. He was educated at Winchester College. He made one appearance in first-class cricket for the Free Foresters against Cambridge University at Cambridge in 1932. Batting twice in the match, Priestley was dismissed without scoring by Rodney Rought-Rought in the Free Forester's first-innings, while in their second-innings he was dismissed by the same bowler for 16 runs. He married Mary Hermia, daughter of Sir George Menteth Boughey, 9th Bt in 1935, with the couple having three children. John Priestley (19 August 1900 – January 1980) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Johnstone, Chelsea, Grimsby Town, St Johnstone and Cowdenbeath. Gerald Priestley (2 March 1931 - 21 January 2020) was a former footballer who played as a winger in the Football League in the 1950s and 1960s. He was born in Halifax. He started with Nottingham Forest but did not play any League games for them and moved to Exeter City in 1953, before transferring to Grimsby Town. He made over 100 League appearances for Grimsby, before moving to Crystal Palace in 1958. He was at Palace for two years, and during his time there scored two senior goals for them. Akeem Sayeed Priestley (born 13 April 1985) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays for Canadian club Master's Futbol as a winger.
