Peter Reynolds (actor)
Peter Reynolds (born Peter Gordon Horrocks; 16 August 1921 – 22 April 1975) was an English actor. Career Most of his career was spent in B films, as "the archetypal spiv, unreliable boyfriend, unscrupulous blackmailer, the smoothie ever ready to light a lady's cigarette". He starred in two early films for John Guillermin. He played Hilaire in episode 28 of ''The Adventures of William Tell'', The Avenger (1959). In 1969 Reynolds moved to Australia, where his career gained a second wind. He appeared in over two dozen roles in his first six years there (1969 to 1974, inclusive), mainly on TV. Amongst his appearances was a leading role in the black comedy film ''Private Collection'' (1972). He also appeared in Woodbine cigarette commercials. Peter Reynolds (archaeologist)
Peter John Reynolds (6 November 1939 – 26 September 2001) was a British archaeologist known for his research in experimental archaeology and the British Iron Age. His work as the first director of Butser Ancient Farm, a working replica of an Iron Age farmstead in Hampshire, made a significant contribution to our understanding of the Iron Age, and to the field of experimental archaeology. Early life Reynolds was born on 6 November 1939 in Shifnal, Shropshire, England. He was educated at The Priory Grammar School for Boys, Shrewsbury. He read Classics at Trinity College, Dublin, graduating in 1962 with a Double First. He then studied for a teaching diploma at Reading University. Peter Reynolds (January 12, 1958 – October 11, 2016) was a Welsh composer known for founding PM Music Ensemble. In addition, he was recognised by Guinness World Records as having written with writer Simon Rees the shortest opera on Earth, '' Sands of Time''; a three-minute and thirty-four second long piece. He died on 11 October 2016 at his home in Cardiff. Biography Peter was born to Dorothy and John Reynolds in 1958. Peter studied in Cardiff, Wales, and lived in South Wales, and was the artistic director of the Lower Machen Festival in Monmouthshire from 1998 to 2009. He received bursaries to study at the Dartington International Summer School with Peter Maxwell Davies in 1984, Morton Feldman in 1986, and Gordon Cross in 1987. Peter Askin Reynolds (2 January 1948 – 1 May 2012) was a male Australian freestyle and medley swimmer of the 1960s. Swimming career Reynolds won a bronze medal in the 4×100-metre medley relay at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Although he set multiple world records, Reynolds peaked between Olympics and was unable to capture an individual medal at Olympic level. Making his international debut at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, Reynolds reached the final of the 200-metre backstroke, where he finished last to American Jed Graef, who won in a world record time. He combined with Ian O'Brien, Kevin Berry and David Dickson to claim bronze in the 4×100-metre medley relay, behind the United States and German. At the 1966 Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica, Reynolds was one of the dominant swimmers, winning four gold medals, three of them individually.
