People's Front (Turkey)
People's Front ( tr, Halk Cephesi) is a Marxist-Leninist mass organization in the Republic of Turkey. Halk Cephesi is active mostly in poor neighborhoods in Istanbul where it also has associations named "Hasan Ferit Gedik Center for Struggle and Liberation Against Drugs" which acts as a rehabilitation centre for those addicted to drugs. Far-left Politics

Gecekondu
Gecekondu (Turkish for ''put up overnight'', plural gecekondular) is a Turkish word meaning a house put up quickly without proper permissions, a squatter's house, and by extension, a shanty or shack. Gecekondu bölgesi is a neighborhood made of those gecekondular. Gecekondu neighborhoods offer an affordable alternative for shelter for many low-income households who can not afford to purchase or rent formal housing. Etymology In Turkish, ''gece'' means "night" and ''kondu'' means "placed" (from the verb ''konmak'', "to settle" or "to be placed"); thus the term ''gecekondu'' comes to mean "placed (built) overnight". And ''bölge'' means a "zone", "district" or even "region", so a ''gecekondu bölgesi'' is a "suddenly built-up shanty-neighborhood." Popular Front
A popular front is "any coalition of working-class and middle-class parties", including liberal and social democratic ones, "united for the defense of democratic forms" against "a presumed Fascist assault". More generally, it is "a coalition especially of leftist political parties against a common opponent". The term was first used in the mid-1930s in Europe by communists concerned over the ascent of the ideology of Fascism in Italy and Germany which they sought to combat by coalescing with non-communist political groupings they had previously attacked as enemies. Grup Yorum is a band from Turkey known for their political songwriting. Grup Yorum (''Yorum'' means interpretation or comment in Turkish) has released twenty-three albums and one film since 1985. Maltepe, Istanbul
Maltepe is a district in Istanbul, Turkey, on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara. It touches Kadıköy district to the west, Kartal to the east and Ataşehir to the northwest.
