Pakistani Cricket Team In South Africa In 2012–13
The Pakistani cricket team toured South Africa from 1 February to 24 March 2013. The tour consisted of two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), three Test matches and five One Day Internationals (ODIs). South Africa announced their summer schedule of January–March in which they replaced their traditional Boxing Day Test with a T20I for the 2012–13 home season, during which they hosted New Zealand and Pakistan. During the third ODI, Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers set a new world record for the third-wicket, with a partnership of 238 runs. This beat the previous record of 237 set by Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar against Kenya in 1999. Graeme Smith
Graeme Craig Smith (born 1 February 1981) is a South African cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for South Africa in all formats. In 2003, he was appointed captain of the national team, taking over from Shaun Pollock. He held the position of test captain until his retirement in 2014. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Sarfraz Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed ( ur, ; born 22 May 1987) is a Pakistani professional cricketer, a wicketkeeper-batsman, who plays for the Pakistani national cricket team. He was the former captain of the Pakistan side in all formats. He leads Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. Sarfaraz was named as Pakistan's Twenty20 International captain following the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India. He was named Pakistan's ODI Captain on 9 February 2017 after Azhar Ali stepped down. Azhar Ali ( ur, ; born 19 February 1985) is a Pakistani former international cricketer. He also captained Pakistan national team in Test and ODI cricket. Ali made his Test debut for Pakistan against Australia in the first Test at Lord's in July 2010. Nasir Jamshed ( ur, ناصر جمشید; born 6 December 1989) is a former Pakistani cricketer, who is currently banned for ten years for his involvement in spot-fixing. Previously, he represented Pakistan national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. He was a Left-handed opening batsman. T20I
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS (born 31 March 1983) is a South African former international cricketer who played for South Africa in all three formats of the game.
