The ''PFL 3'' mixed martial arts event for the 2022 season of the Professional Fighters League was held on May 6, 2022, at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas. This will be the third regular season event of the tournament and included fights in the Women's Lightweight and Welterweight divisions. Background The event will be headlined by a women's lightweight clash between the 2019 and 2021 champion Kayla Harrison and Bellator vet Marina Mokhnatkina. The co-main will feature a welterweight bout between 2019 and 2021 champion Ray Cooper III facing undefeated Magomed Umalatov. Umalatov would pull out of the bout and be replaced by former LFA Welterweight Champion Carlos Leal. The remaining two fights of the main card will see lightweight bout between ex-UFC champ Anthony Pettis facing Bellator veteran Myles Price, while former Bellator Welterweight champion Rory MacDonald faces off against Bellator and ACA vet Brett Cooper. Professional Fighters League
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. The PFL currently puts on fights across six weight-divisions: featherweight, women's lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. The PFL's matches are held inside a 10-sided mixed martial arts cage known as the SmartCage, and adhere to the unified rules of mixed martial arts, with the exception of the prohibition of elbow strikes. Steven Ray (born 25 March 1990) is a Scottish mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of the Professional Fighters League (PFL). Olivier Aubin-Mercier (; born February 23, 1989) is a Canadian mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of the Professional Fighters League.
