Port Of Immingham
The Port of Immingham, also known as Immingham Dock, is a major port on the east coast of England, located on the south bank of the Humber Estuary in the town of Immingham, Lincolnshire. In 2019, the Port of Grimsby & Immingham was the largest port in the United Kingdom by tonnage with 54.1 million tonnes of cargo passing through that year. The port was established by the Humber Commercial Railway and Dock Company in association with the Great Central Railway; the dock company incorporated and the works permitted by the Humber Commercial Railway and Dock Act 1901 ( 1 Edw. 7. c. ccii). Construction of the dock started in 1906 and was completed by 1912. The original main purpose of the dock was export of coal. South Killingholme
South Killingholme is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 1,108. The parish was predominately agricultural and sparsely populated and the village small until the 1960s when Industry of the South Humber Bank, industrialisation of the south Humber bank took place throughout area north-west of Grimsby – within the parish of South Killingholme the Humber Oil Refinery was built in the late 1960s. At the same time the village greatly expanded reaching near its present (2006) scale by the early 1970s. Ulceby Railway Station
Ulceby railway station serves the village of Ulceby in North East Lincolnshire, England. It was built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway in 1848 and is located at Ulceby Skitter. It is managed by East Midlands Railway and served by its trains on the Barton line between and . The station layout is somewhat unusual in that all passenger trains use a single platform, even though the station is located on a double track line. There are junctions at either end of the station, as the branch line from to Barton-on-Humber meets and then diverges from the busy freight-only line from to Immingham Dock. These junctions, and the adjacent level crossing were controlled from Ulceby Junction signal box at the southern end of the station, however this was demolished in January 2016 when the crossing and signals were automated. Stallingborough is a village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 1,234. John Wolfe Barry
Sir John Wolfe Barry (7 December 1836 – 22 January 1918) was an English civil engineer known for engineering Tower Bridge over the River Thames in London which was constructed between 1886 and 1894. He was the youngest son of architect Sir Charles Barry. After receiving a knighthood in 1897, he added "Wolfe" to his inherited name in 1898 to become Sir John Wolfe Barry. Early years and education Barry was born in London on 7 December 1836. He was the youngest of five sons of the architect Charles Barry and his wife, Sarah Rowsell.
