Pink-slime Journalism
Pink-slime journalism is a practice in which news outlets, or fake partisan operations masquerading as such, publish poor-quality news reports that appear to be local news. Researchers and media credibility raters have observed pink-slime journalism being used to support both Republican Party and Democratic Party politicians or policies. The use of these websites to gather user data has also been observed. The reports are either computer-generated or written by poorly-paid outsourced writers, sometimes using pen names. The term "pink-slime journalism" was coined by journalist Ryan Smith in 2012. A related term, "news mirage", was coined in 2024 by journalists Miranda Green and David Folkenflik to refer to websites that "look like news, but in truth erve asmouthpieces" for corporations or advocacy groups with a non-journalistic agenda. Mac Miller
Malcolm James McCormick (January 19, 1992 – September 7, 2018), known by the stage name Mac Miller, was an American rapper. He began his career in Pittsburgh's local hip hop music, hip hop scene in 2007, at the age of 15. In 2010, he signed a record deal with independent label Rostrum Records and released his breakthrough mixtapes ''K.I.D.S.'' (2010) and ''Best Day Ever (mixtape), Best Day Ever'' (2011). Slime Rancher
''Slime Rancher'' is a farm life sim video game developed and published by American indie studio Monomi Park. The game was released as an early access title in January 2016, with an official release on Windows, macOS, Linux and Xbox One on August 1, 2017. A PlayStation 4 version was released on August 21, 2018, and a Nintendo Switch version was released on August 11, 2021. A DLC named 'Slime Rancher: Secret Style Pack' was released on June 18, 2019 which added additional cosmetic appearances. A sequel, ''Slime Rancher 2'', was released in early access on September 22, 2022, for Windows and Xbox Series X/S. A feature film adaptation is also in development.
