Formed in 1875, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) is the 3rd largest sheriff's office in Arizona, serving unincorporated areas of Pinal County, Arizona. PCSO provides patrol services, criminal investigation, search and rescue services, and operates the county jail. PCSO's annual budget is nearly 40 million dollars annually, which covers all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office, including the Detention Center. Pinal County is a County (United States), county in the central part of the U.S. state of Arizona. According to the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the county was 425,264, making it Arizona's List of counties in Arizona, third-most populous county. ''60 Days In'' is a reality television series on A&E in which volunteers are incarcerated as undercover prisoners for 60 days. Internationally, it is known as ''The Jail: 60 Days In'' and airs in over 100 other countries. The show premiered on March 10, 2016, while Season 2 premiered on August 18. ''Live PD'' is an American television program that aired on the A&E Network from 2016 to 2020. Mark Lamb (sheriff)
Mark Lamb (born July 14, 1972) is an American law enforcement officer and politician who served as sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona, from January 1, 2017 until December 31, 2024. He is a member of the Republican Party. Lamb previously served in the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community police department. He ran unopposed for re-election as sheriff in 2020. He was a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2024 looking to replace incumbent independent Kyrsten Sinema after Sinema declined to seek re-election. He was defeated in the primary by Kari Lake, finishing second. Lamb stepped down from the Sheriff’s office on December 31, 2024. Paul Raymond Babeu (pronounced ''BAB-you''; born February 3, 1969) is an American law enforcement officer, politician and member of the Republican Party who was sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona, from January 1, 2009, to January 1, 2017. He was Pinal County's first Republican sheriff. Babeu ran for Arizona's 4th congressional district in the 2012 elections to the United States House of Representatives but withdrew and came out as gay after a personal controversy. He became the Republican nominee for Arizona's 1st congressional district in the 2016 elections after winning the primary on August 30, 2016. HIDTA
The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program is a drug-prohibition enforcement program run by the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy. It was established in 1990 after the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988 was passed. The HIDTA program was made permanent through Title III of the Office of National Drug Control Policy Reauthorization Act of 2006.
