C. Dudley "Pete" King (August 8, 1914 – September 21, 1982) was an American music composer and arranger of easy listening music and film soundtracks. He was born in Ohio and studied music at the Cincinnati Conservatory and the University of Michigan. He was elected president of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1967. King conducted orchestras for a variety of Hollywood films including adapting the works of Edvard Grieg for ''The Pied Piper of Hamelin'' and two comedies '' The Family Jewels'' and '' The Last of the Secret Agents''. Peter King (American Politician)
Peter Thomas King (born April 5, 1944) is an American former politician and novelist who represented New York in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he represented a South Shore Long Island district that includes parts of Nassau County and Suffolk County and was numbered as the 3rd and later the 2nd district. King was formerly chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security. He stepped down because of Republican conference term limits, but remained a member of the committee. On November 11, 2019, King announced he would not seek re-election in the 2020 elections and would retire after his current term expired. He resigned from the Financial Services Committee on January 15, 2020. King also previously served on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Peter Andrew King (born June 10, 1957) is an American sportswriter. He wrote for ''Sports Illustrated'' from 1989 to 2018, including the weekly multiple-page column ''Monday Morning Quarterback''. He is the author of five books, including ''Inside the Helmet''. He has been named National Sportswriter of the Year three times. Before coming to ''Sports Illustrated'', King was a writer for ''The Cincinnati Enquirer'' from 1980 to 1985 and ''Newsday'' from 1985 to 1989. Since 1992 King has been a member of the Board of Selectors for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 2006, he joined '' Football Night in America'', NBC Sports' Sunday night NFL studio show. Peter Frank King (30 October 1916 – 12 December 1962) was a British Commando in World War II, who was commissioned in the field and awarded the Military Cross. He also served in Korea with the New Zealand Army, being awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1951. King died in a car accident in 1962. Early life Peter King was born in Caxton, Cambridgeshire; his parents were William Edgar King, a master builder, and his wife, Hilda May Pleasants. He was educated at Truro School. World War II service King joined the Dental Corps in March 1939 and served as a non-technician, excelling as a weapons instructor. Peter King (born 1983) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a left corner-back for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Ballina, County Tipperary, King first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 2005 championship. King immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won one Tommy Murphy Cup medal. Peter Charles King (born 3 April 1943) is an English former professional footballer. He played his entire professional career at Cardiff City, making over 400 appearances in a fourteen-year spell between 1960 and 1974 putting him in the top five players with most appearances for the club. Peter Stephen George King (23 August 1929  – 20 December 2009) was a British jazz tenor saxophonist. He co-founded London's Ronnie Scott's jazz club and was its manager for almost fifty years. Biography King was born in Bow, London, England. He's first professional work was with Jiver Hutchinson in 1947, before going on to join the bands of Kenny Graham (musician), Kenny Graham, Teddy Foster (musician), Teddy Foster, and Leon Roy. In 1948, he was first tenor in George Evans (bandleader), George Evans' Saxes ‘n’ Sevens with Tony Arnopp, Kenny Clare and Les Evans. He played with Oscar Rabin 1948–50 and Kathy Stobart 1950–52.
