''Out Here'' is the fifth album by the United States, American rock music, rock band Love (band), Love, released in December 1969 by Blue Thumb Records in the United States and Harvest Records, Harvest in the United Kingdom. The album charted in the United Kingdom, reaching No. 29 in May 1970. Background After the dissolution of the original Love (band), Love lineup following the release of ''Forever Changes'' (1967), Arthur Lee (musician), Arthur Lee assembled a new band, including guitarist Jay Donnellan, drummer George Suranovich and bassist Frank Fayad. The quartet recorded 27 songs, ten of which were released by Elektra Records as ''Four Sail'' in August 1969, with the remaining songs being issued by Blue Thumb Records as a double LP, ''Out Here'', that December. The title came from the name of the cover painting, created by Burt Shonberg. Fillmore East
The Fillmore East was rock promoter Bill Graham's rock venue on Second Avenue near East 6th Street in the (at the time) Lower East Side neighborhood, now called the East Village neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan of New York City. It was open from March 8, 1968, to June 27, 1971, and featured some of the biggest acts in rock music at the time. Bill Graham (promoter)
Bill Graham (born Wulf Wolodia Grajonca; January 8, 1931 – October 25, 1991) was a German-American impresario and rock concert promoter from the 1960s until his death in 1991 in a helicopter crash. On July 4, 1939, he was sent from Germany to France due to political uncertainty in his home country. At age 10, he settled into a foster home in the Bronx, New York. Graham graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and subsequently from City College with a business degree. In the early 1960s, Graham moved to San Francisco, and in 1965, began to manage the San Francisco Mime Troupe. He had teamed up with local Haight Ashbury promoter Chet Helms to organize a benefit concert, then promoted several free concerts. This eventually turned into a profitable full-time career and he assembled a talented staff.
