Man Overboard
"Man overboard!" is an exclamation given aboard a vessel to indicate that a member of the crew or a passenger has fallen off of the ship into the water and is in need of immediate rescue. Whoever sees the person fall is to shout, "Man overboard!" and the call is then to be reported once by every crewman within earshot, even if they have not seen the victim fall, until everyone on deck has heard and given the same call. This ensures that all other crewmen have been alerted to the situation and notifies the officers of the need to act immediately to save the victim. Pointing continuously at the victim may aid the helmsman in approaching the victim. Causes A person may fall overboard for any number of reasons: they might have been struck by one of the ship's Boom (sailing), booms, they may have lost their footing on a slippery deck or while climbing the ship's ratlines, they may have deliberately jumped overboard in a suicide attempt, or any number of other reasons. Falling overbo ...

Overboard (a Cappella)
Overboard is an a cappella group based in Boston, Massachusetts. History Founded by Nicholas Girard in the spring of 2006, Overboard was first conceived as a street performance group intent on entertaining audiences around coastal New England during the summer months. The group's first album, ''Shipwrecked'', was released during that summer and was distributed during the group's frequent busking stops in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Freeport, Maine and Burlington, Vermont, as well as around their hometown of Boston. On the heels of their successful first summer, the group decided to continue performing together on a more permanent basis. In February 2007, Overboard began recording its second album, ''Stranded'', which was released that May. My World 2
''My World 2.0'' is the debut studio album by Canadian singer Justin Bieber. It was released on March 19, 2010, by Island Records. It is considered the second half of a two-piece project, being supplemented by Bieber's debut extended play '' My World'' (2009). The record follows in the same vein as ''My World'', incorporating teen pop and R&B elements. Lyrically, it discusses teen romance and coming of age situations. Upon its release, ''My World 2.0'' received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who complimented its production. It debuted at number one on the US ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart with first-week sales of 283,000 copies. In doing so, Bieber became the youngest solo male artist to top the chart since Stevie Wonder in 1963. With ''My World'' peaking at numb ...

2 Blues For Cecil
''2 Blues for Cecil'' is an album by drummer Andrew Cyrille, bassist William Parker, and trumpeter Enrico Rava. It was recorded in February 2021 at Studios Ferber in Paris, France, and was released by TUM Records in January 2022. The album is a tribute to pianist Cecil Taylor, with whom all three musicians played; despite this, it does not feature a piano, and does not "attempt to reanimate or imitate Cecil Taylor's style of playing." Reception In a review for AllMusic, Thom Jurek wrote: "This group's innate, perhaps even cellular understanding of Taylor's theories are illustrated colorfully and energetically, without attempting to match the pianist's fluid intensity... This trio may not attempt to imitate Taylor's approach, but they do reveal the intricate dimensions in his aesthetic, while simultaneously reflecting and celebrating the long reach of his influence." ''DownBeats Ivana Ng praised the "liberatory improvisation and uninhibited expression between the three establishe ...

Overboard (comic Strip)
''Overboard'' is Chip Dunham's daily newspaper comic strip about a shipload of incompetent pirates. It debuted in July 1990 and is distributed by Andrews McMeel Syndication. The strip ''Overboard'' derives much of its humor from having its characters anachronistically placed in modern times. For instance, they put quarters in dockside parking meters, order pizza by cellphone, and have a company health insurance plan. These pirates are much less fearsome than their ruthless predecessors. In the early years of the strip, much of their activity involved standing around on deck drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. Recent strips feature golf, pet care and gardening. Their enemy is the Green Ship and its rival band of pirates, but giant rabbits attacking the garden, sharks, octopuses, and the Internal Revenue Service also are threats. Competence is also an issue. While the ''Overboard'' crew carries cutlasses and makes raids, most often their treasure is stolen by disgruntled ...
