Out Of Control (Kelly Book)
''Out of Control: The New Biology of Machines, Social Systems, and the Economic World'' () is a 1992 book by Kevin Kelly (editor), Kevin Kelly. Major themes in ''Out of Control'' are cybernetics, emergence, self-organization, complex systems, negentropy and chaos theory. The book can be seen as a work of techno-utopianism. Summary The book's central theme is that several fields of contemporary science and philosophy point in the same direction: intelligence is not organized in a centralized structure but is much more like a beehive composed of small, simple components. Kelly applies this view to bureaucratic organizations, intelligent computers, and the human brain. Reception Although the book was not widely reviewed upon its initial release in 1992, it gained visibility, was reviewed, and was extensively cited in subsequent years. Reviews often discussed Kelly's hive-mind analogy as a metaphor for the New Economy. Reviewers have called the book a "mind-expanding exploration" (' ...

Out Of Control (Mayday)
''Mayday'', known as ''Air Crash Investigation(s)'' outside of the United States and Canada and also known as ''Mayday: Air Disaster'' (The Weather Channel) or ''Air Disasters '' (Smithsonian Channel) in the United States, is a Canadian documentary television series produced by Cineflix that recounts air crashes, near-crashes, fires, hijackings, bombings, and other mainly flight-related disasters and crises. It reveals the events that led to each crisis or disaster, their causes as determined by the official investigating body or bodies, and the measures they recommended to prevent a similar incident from happening again. The programs use re-enactments, interviews, eyewitness testimony, computer-generated imagery, cockpit voice recordings, and official reports to reconstruct the sequences of events. This does not include "Crash of the Century", a 2005 90-minute special investigating the Tenerife airport disaster, as the program is not branded as ''Mayday'' by Cineflix, even ...

Out Of Control (Kids In The Kitchen Song)
"Out of Control" is a song by Australian pop/ new wave group Kids in the Kitchen. The song was released in June 1986 as the lead single from their second studio album, '' Terrain'' (1987). The song peaked at number 33 on the Australian Kent Music Report. Reception The Canberra Times said; "Out of control indeed! It's brash, harsh and too too heavy; overkill, senseless. Promos from the record company described this as 'essential dance music in a ballad-ridden chart era' and touted their boys as being 'both now and the future... no wanna-bes in sight'... I beg to differ, they were. Somewhere down there lurks a melody line and some lyrics, but I'm not too sure how many people will be willing to cut through the crap to find it. I was very disappointed as both their previous performances and the record cover itself had me expecting more. I only hope this is a momentary aberration." Video The clip to accompany the single was the last to feature drummer Bruce Curnow and keyboardist Ali ...

Out Of Control (George Jones Song)
"Out of Control" is a song by George Jones. It was released as a single on Mercury Records in 1960. Background "Out of Control" is one of Jones' most gripping songs about alcoholism. Written by the singer along with Darrell Edwards and Herbie Treece, its evocative lyrics paint a dismal portrait of a man drinking himself into oblivion, with the narrator identifying himself as "just like that fellow." Like his earlier hit "Just One More", the song is an early example of the sad, cry-in-your-beer honky-tonk lament that Jones would become famous for, but "Out of Control" explores the theme with far more nuance: Supported by a subtle steel guitar and barroom piano, the character's condition in the song continues to deteriorate, with Jones singing with an almost detached kind of sincerity: As the decade progressed, Jones would move further away from the high lonesome, Hank Williams-influenced singing style that characterized many of his Starday and early Mercury recordings and be ...
