Organised Crime And Corruption Reporting Project
The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is a global network of investigative journalists. It was founded in 2006 and specializes in organized crime and corruption. It publishes its stories through local media and in English and Russian through its website. OCCRP works with and supports more than fifty independent media outlets across six continents. In 2017, NGO Advisor ranked it 69th in the world in their annual list of the 500 best non-governmental organizations (NGO). History OCCRP was founded by veteran journalists Drew Sullivan and Paul Radu. Sullivan was serving as the editor of the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) and Radu worked with an early Romanian center. Paul Radu
Paul Radu (born 1975–76) is an Investigative journalism, investigative journalist from Romania. He is the co-founder of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, for which he and co-founder Drew Sullivan received the Special Award by the European Press Prize. He is also one of the cofounders of the Romanian Center for Investigative Journalism. Early life Radu was born in Deva, Romania, Deva, Hunedoara County, in a family with roots both from the region and from Timișoara. While studying at the West University of Timișoara, University of Timișoara, he started working for a local newspaper. ''The Vienna Review'' was founded in 2006 by American journalist and director of the Vienna Journalism Institute Dardis McNamee. It was a monthly English language newspaper based in Vienna, Austria, available in print and online. The paper's target audience was the permanent English-speaking community in Austria and Central Europe, as well as expatriates and tourists. Content The Vienna Review started out as a student newspaper based in the Vienna campus of Webster University. RISE Moldova (; The Association of Investigative Reporters and Editorial Security) is an independent, non-governmental and nonprofit organization consisting of investigative journalists, programmers and activists from Moldova and Romania. Investigations made by RISE Moldova journalists were shortlisted for the European Press Prize for two years in a row. Stanko Subotić ( sr-Cyrl, Станко Суботић; born 9 September 1959) is a Serbian businessman and the founder and owner of the Luxembourg-based holding company EMI Group (Emerging Marketing Investments APS) which owns Moj Kiosk Group and the French holding company Louis Max. Darko Šarić
Darko Šarić (Cyrillic: Дарко Шарић; born in 1969 in Pljevlja, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Montenegrin drug trafficker. Career Šarić was charged with drug smuggling (primarily cocaine) in April 2010. He is said to have planned the murders of well-known politicians and police officers. According to the police, the list included Serbian President Boris Tadić, Minister of Justice Snežana Malović, Secretary of State for Justice Slobodan Homen, and Special Prosecutor against Organized Crime, Miljko Radisavljević.
