Northwestern University Law Review
The ''Northwestern University Law Review'' is a law review and student organization at Northwestern University School of Law. The ''Law Review''s primary purpose is to publish a journal of broad legal scholarship. The ''Law Review'' publishes six issues each year. Student editors make the editorial and organizational decisions and select articles submitted by professors, judges, and practitioners, as well as student pieces. The ''Law Review'' extended its presence onto the web in 2006 and regularly publishes scholarly pieces on ''Northwestern University Law Review Online (NULR Online)''. History The ''Northwestern University Law Review'' was founded in 1906 by a faculty vote as the ''Illinois Law Review''. The Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law (formerly known as Northwestern University School of Law from 1891 to 2015) is the law school of Northwestern University, a Private university, private research university. Paul Freund
Paul Abraham Freund (February 16, 1908February 5, 1992) was an American legal scholar. He taught for most of his life at Harvard Law School and is known for his writings on the United States Constitution and the Supreme Court of the United States. Early life and education Freund was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents of German-Jewish descent. He was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (1928) and Harvard Law School (1931, 1932). He served as president of the editorial board of the ''Harvard Law Review'' and wrote his 1931 thesis on "The Effect of State Statutes on Federal Equity Jurisdiction." Kennedy and as a special prosecutor during the Watergate scandal. Erwin Griswold
Erwin Nathaniel Griswold (; July 14, 1904 – November 19, 1994) was an American appellate attorney and legal scholar who argued many cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Griswold served as Solicitor General of the United States (1967–1973) under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon. He also served as the dean of Harvard Law School for 21 years. Abe Fortas
Abraham Fortas (June 19, 1910 – April 5, 1982) was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1965 to 1969. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Fortas graduated from Rhodes College and Yale Law School. He later became a law professor at Yale Law School and then an advisor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Fortas worked at the Department of the Interior under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and was appointed by President Harry S. Truman to delegations that helped set up the United Nations in 1945. In 1948, Fortas represented Lyndon B. Felix Frankfurter
Felix Frankfurter (November 15, 1882 – February 22, 1965) was an American jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1939 until 1962, advocating judicial restraint. Born in Vienna, Frankfurter immigrated with his family to New York City at age 12. He graduated from Harvard Law School and worked for Henry L. Stimson, the U.S. Secretary of War.
