Northern Arizona University
Northern Arizona University (NAU) is a public research university based in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was founded in 1899 as the final public university established in the Arizona Territory, 13 years before Arizona was admitted as the 48th state. NAU is one of the three universities governed by the Arizona Board of Regents and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. As of fall 2022, 28,090 students were enrolled at NAU with 21,411 at the Flagstaff campus. The university is divided into seven academic colleges offering about 130 undergraduate degrees, 100 graduate programs, and various academic certificates. Students can take classes and conduct research in Flagstaff, online, and at more than 20 statewide locations, including the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Jeff Lewis (American Football)
Jeffrey Scott Lewis (April 17, 1973 – January 5, 2013) was an American football quarterback in the National Football League for the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at Northern Arizona University. Early years Lewis attended Horizon High School where he was an All-conference and All-city selection in football, baseball and basketball. He gained over 1,000 rushing yards in his last 2 seasons in football. As a senior in baseball, he batted for a .492 average and tallied a 3-1 record as a pitcher. David Lang (American Football)
David Lang (March 28, 1967 – May 21, 2005) was an American football running back in the National Football League for the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Northern Arizona University. Early life Lang graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1986. He was an All-league selection at running back as a senior. In track, he anchored the 4 × 100 metres relay team that finished third at the California state finals. He accepted a football scholarship from Northern Arizona University. As a sophomore, he had 47 carries for 240 yards and 14 receptions for 96 yards. As a junior, he started the first four games, tallying 146 rushing yards and 114 receiving yards, before suffering a knee injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season. Mike Jankowski, (born 1976) known as "Coach Janks," is a skiing and snowboarding coach. Early life Jankowski is from Memphis, Tennessee, the youngest child of Madaline and Len Jankowski. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School, and attended Northern Arizona University. Coaching career In the mid-to-late 1990s, Jankowski was a snowboarding instructor at Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff. He was coach of the U.S. Junior National Team, then promoted to assistant coach of the Olympic Team, before being given the head coaching job. Michael David Haynes (born December 24, 1965) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He played college football at Northern Arizona after attending Eastern Arizona College. Casey Frank (born October 23, 1977) is an American-New Zealand former professional basketball player who spent the majority of his 17-year career in the New Zealand NBL and Australian NBL. After playing four years of college basketball for Northern Arizona, Frank arrived in New Zealand in 2002 and remained in the region for the remainder of his career. He won NBL titles in 2004 and 2005 with the Auckland Stars, and in 2010 and 2011 with the Wellington Saints. Frank was named Outstanding Forward and selected to the All-Star Five three times each.
