North Macedonia In The Eurovision Song Contest
North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R. Macedonia), has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 21 times since its official debut in 1998. The country had attempted to participate in 1996, but failed to qualify from the audio-only qualifying round. The current Head of Delegation is Meri Popova. Macedonian Radio Television
Macedonian Radio Television (MRT; mk, Македонска радио-телевизија (МРТ), Makedonska radio-televizija (MRT)), officially National Radio-Television ( mk, Национална Радиотелевизија, Nacionalna Radiotelevizija) since 2019, is the public broadcasting organisation of North Macedonia. It was founded in 1993 by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. Yugoslavia In The Eurovision Song Contest
Yugoslavia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times, debuting in 1961 and competing every year until its last appearance in 1992, with the exceptions of 1977–1980 and 1985. Yugoslavia won the 1989 contest and hosted the contest. Ljiljana Petrović was Yugoslavia's first entrant in the contest in and placed eighth. In , Lola Novaković gave the country its first top five result, finishing fourth. This would remain Yugoslavia's only top five result until , when Danijel finished fourth with the song "Džuli". Macedonian (; , , ) is an Eastern South Slavic language. It is part of the Indo-European language family, and is one of the Slavic languages, which are part of a larger Balto-Slavic branch. Spoken as a first language by around two million people, it serves as the official language of North Macedonia. "Proud" is a song recorded by Macedonian singer Tamara Todevska. It was composed by Darko Dimitrov, Robert Bilbilov and Lazar Cvetkovski, with the lyrics being written by Kosta Petrov and Sanja Popovska. It was the Macedonian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, which took place in Tel Aviv. Although the song was initially planned to be released on 4 March 2019, the release date was postponed the day before to 8 March 2019 to coincide with International Women's Day. Adrian Gaxha (, mk, Адријан Гаџа; born 13 February 1984) is a Macedonian-Albanian singer, songwriter, producer, dancer and entrepreneur. Macedonia (officially under the provisional appellation "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", abbreviated "FYR Macedonia") participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Ninanajna" written by Darko Dimitrov and Rade Vrčakovski. The song was performed by Elena Risteska. The Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) organised the national final ''Specialen Evroviziski Den'' in order to select the Macedonian entry for the 2006 contest in Athens, Greece. Vlado Janevski represented Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 after winning the national final selection with the song "Ne zori, zoro", which made altogether a country debut at the Eurovision Song Contest. Before Eurovision Skopje Fest 1998 The final held on 7 March 1998 at the Universal Hall in Skopje accompanied by the big orchestra of MKRTV. Vladimir Vlado Janevski ( mk, Владимир Владо Јаневски ) is a popular Macedonian singer. He was North Macedonia's first Eurovision contestant, finishing 19th in Birmingham at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest with the song " Ne Zori, Zoro". Biography Vlado Janevski was born on 27 November 1960 in Skopje, resided most of his adult years in Čair and as of 2021 moved to Gevgelija.
