Nicola is the trade name of the apple cultivar SPA440, a cross between the apples ' Splendour' and ' Gala' made at the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre (PARC), Summerland, BC. Nicola is a mid-late season apple, typically harvested at 3-4 on the Cornell general Starch chart. Shackan First Nation
The Shackan Indian Band ( thp, Sx̣íx̣nx) is a Nlaka'pamux First Nations government located in the Nicola Country of the Southern Interior region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is a member of the Scw’exmx Tribal Council, which is one of three tribal councils of the Nlaka'pamux people. Other Nlaka'pamux governments belong either to the Fraser Canyon Indian Administration or the Nlaka'pamux Nation Tribal Council. The Shackan Indian Band reserve community and offices are located just west of Merritt, the main urban centre in the Nicola Country region between the Lower Mainland and Kamloops. The name Shackan is an adaptation from Sxe'xn'x (Sx̣íx̣nx), which is its name in the local dialect of Nlaka'pamuctsin (the Thompson language). LaCroix or La Croix ( ) is an American brand of sparkling water that originated in La Crosse, Wisconsin, by G. Heileman Brewing Company and is now distributed by National Beverage Corporation. Their flavors include various fruits and fruit blends. History In February 1980, the G. Heileman Brewing Company, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, introduced LaCroix as one of the first "Anti-Perrier" brands. Nicoleta Alexandru (; born 5 November 1968), whose stage name is Nicola (), is a Romanian singer. She is best known for representing Romania at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest. Life and career Nicoleta Alexandru was born in Bucharest, Romania. Nicola began her solo career in 1992 and has since toured extensively and made numerous television, radio and stage appearances.
