Neil Fox (broadcaster)
Neil Andrew Howe Fox (born 12 June 1961) is an English radio DJ and television presenter, known for many years as Dr Fox before he became "Foxy" in the 2000s, then simply as Neil Fox, M.D. before reemerging as "Dr Fox" in 2020 to host the UDJ "Heritage Chart" countdown. He was a judge on ''Pop Idol'' between 2001 and 2003 alongside Simon Cowell, Pete Waterman and Nicki Chapman. Early life Fox was born on 12 June 1961 in Harrow, Middlesex. As a boy he moved to Thames Ditton, Surrey, where he lived for a number of years. He was then educated at Kingston Grammar School in London and joined the Air Training Corps, before becoming a management student at the University of Bath, where he joined the student radio station University Radio Bath, and began his career as a radio presenter using the pseudonym Andrew Howe. Neil Fox MBE (born 4 May 1939) is an English former professional rugby league footballer and player-coach who played in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and coached in the 1970s and 1980s. A left-footed goal-kicking , he set rugby league's all-time points record, scoring 6,220 points during his career. The brother of fellow rugby league players, Peter and Don Fox, Neil played for Yorkshire sides such as; Wakefield Trinity ( Heritage No. 629) (two spells), Bradford Northern ( Heritage No.) (two spells), Hull Kingston Rovers ( Heritage No.), York, Bramley and Huddersfield. Background Fox was born in Sharlston, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. He grew up supporting Huddersfield, and went on to sign for Wakefield Trinity at 16 years of age. Many believed he would follow in his elder brother Don's footsteps and sign for Featherstone Rovers. Neil Fox (born 10 February 1962) is a former English cricketer. Fox was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born in Norwich, Norfolk. Fox made his debut for Norfolk in the 1991 Minor Counties Championship against Hertfordshire. Fox played Minor counties cricket for Norfolk from 1991 to 2000, which included 77 Minor Counties Championship matches and 23 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Warwickshire in the 1993 NatWest Trophy. He made 7 further List A appearances, the last coming against Dorset in the 2000 NatWest Trophy. In his 8 List A matches, he scored 135 runs at an average of 16.87, with a high score of 68. This was his only half century in List A cricket and it came against Hampshire in the 1996 NatWest Trophy.
