Protected Area
Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural, ecological or cultural values. There are several kinds of protected areas, which vary by level of protection depending on the enabling laws of each country or the regulations of the international organizations involved. Generally speaking though, protected areas are understood to be those in which human presence or at least the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. firewood, non-timber forest products, water, ...) is limited. The term "protected area" also includes marine protected areas, the boundaries of which will include some area of ocean, and transboundary protected areas that overlap multiple countries which remove the borders inside the area for conservation and economic purposes. Aksu-Djabagly Nature Reserve
The Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve ( kz, Ақсу-Жабағылы қорығы, ''Aqsu-Jabağyly Qoryğy''; russian: Aксу-Жабаглинский заповедник, ''Aksu-Zhabaglinskiy zapovednik'') is the oldest nature reserve in Central Asia. It is located in the southern province of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It covers the north-western mountain chains of the Tian Shan. Its name is derived from the biggest river in the area, the Aksu, and the mountain chain Zhabagly which is located in the northern part of the area. Alakol Nature Reserve
The Alakol Biosphere Reserve (established 2013) is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve located in Kazakhstan, within the desert zone of Eurasia in the central part of the Alakol inter-mountain depression. The reserve lies on the Central Asian–Indian bird migration route. The wetlands of the reserve are of global significance as a habitat and as a nesting site for water birds. The Alakol State Nature Reserve manages the area. Almaty State Reserve
Almaty State Natural Reserve ( Kazakh: ''Алматы́ мемлекетті́к табиғи́ қорығы́'', romanized: Almaty memlekettіk tabigi korygy) is a nature reserve in the Almaty Region, Kazakhstan, in the central part of the Trans-Ili Alatau ridge. In 1966, the “Singing Mountain” desert area was added to the reserve, but in January 1983 the natural monument was placed under the jurisdiction of the Kapchagai Hunting Sector. The area is located within the territory of the Altyn-Emel National Park.
