National Cybersecurity Center Of Excellence
The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) is a US government organization that builds and publicly shares solutions to cybersecurity problems faced by U.S. businesses. The center, located in Rockville, Maryland, was established in 2012 through a partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the state of Maryland, and Montgomery County. The center is partnered with nearly 20 market-leading IT companies, which contribute hardware, software and expertise. The NCCoE asks industry sector members about their cybersecurity problems, then selects issues that affect an entire sector or reaches across sectors. The center forms a team of people from cybersecurity technology companies, other federal agencies and academia to address each problem. The teams work in the center's labs to build example solutions using commercially available, off-the-shelf products. Anthony Gregory Brown (born November 21, 1961) is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the U.S. representative for Maryland's 4th congressional district since 2017. Federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) are public-private partnerships that conduct research and development for the United States Government. Isiah "Ike" Leggett (born July 25, 1944) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Maryland and former executive of Montgomery County, Maryland. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Born in Deweyville, Texas, Leggett attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and, after serving in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army, earned a J.D. degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
