NASCAR Pinty's Series
The NASCAR Pinty's Series (french: Série NASCAR Pinty's), commonly abbreviated as NPS, is a national NASCAR racing series in Canada, and is a continuation of the old CASCAR Super Series which was founded in 1981. History In September 2006 NASCAR purchased the CASCAR Super Series, the top Canadian stock-car racing series at the time. At the same time, they established a sponsorship agreement with Canadian Tire as the title sponsor. They also signed a television contract with TSN to carry all events with select races being aired live. Three of the series races, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal, had crowds in excess of 50,000 fans. The 2007 season was the inaugural season for the series with the first event being held on May 26, 2007, at Cayuga Motor Speedway with Don Thomson Jr. winning in a spirited battle. 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
The 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was the fourth racing season since the buy out of the CASCAR Super Series. Overview In 2010 many procedures in the series remained the same, with all of the races airing on TSN, in tape-delayed one-hour segments excluding Montreal and the Toronto Indy. TSN and RDS provided live coverage of the NAPA Autopro 100 from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday, August 29 and July 25 from the streets of Toronto. Major changes to the series included former CASCAR champion Dave Whitlock and his team closing down leaving many looking for rides. Mark Dilley joined up with Scott Steckly to run full-time and Internet superstar Pierre Bourque drove the 00 Aaron's Lucky Dog car full-time. 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
The 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season is the fifth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. This season comprised twelve races at eleven different venues, seven of which were contested on oval courses. Overview The fifth season of racing had a few different race procedures for the 12 events to be run this season spanning across 5 provinces featuring 12 events. New procedures include a new rookie of the year format, the introduction of the wave around and three attempts at a green-white-checker finish. All of the races were televised on TSN in one-hour tape delayed episodes, excluding Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and Toronto which were aired live on the network. The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). New Hampshire Motor Speedway
New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a oval speedway located in Loudon, New Hampshire, which has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1990, as well as the longest-running motorcycle race in North America, the Loudon Classic. 2016 NASCAR Pinty's Series
The 2016 NASCAR Pinty's Series was the tenth season of the NASCAR Pinty's Series. Beginning on May 22 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the season consisted of twelve races at eleven different venues in Canada. The season ended at Kawartha Speedway on September 18. Scott Steckly was the defending Drivers' Champion. Cayden Lapcevich won the 2016 championship when the Green Flag dropped at the last race, as there were not enough entries for Lapcevich to lose that many points that Andrew Ranger could have taken the championship. The 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was the ninth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, which took place in the summer of 2015. Peter Shepherd (racing Driver)
Peter Shepherd III (born August 13, 1986) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He is currently racing in the NASCAR Pinty's Series for Dave Jacombs Racing and in the APC Series in the #22 APC/Total Race Car]. Racing career Shepherd started in Kart racing, go-karts and moved on to the Thunder Car division at Flamboro Speedway. He progressed from there to Late Model running in the ALSTAR Series and then into Super Late Models with OSCAAR. Shepherd eventually worked his way into Canada's top series CASCAR running a season and a half winning races along the way as well as Rookie of the year.
