National Tsing Hua University
National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) is a public research university in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was first founded in Beijing. After the Chinese Civil War, president Mei Yiqi and other academics relocated with the retreating Nationalist government to Taiwan, where they reestablished National Tsing Hua University in 1956. The university remains independent and distinct from Tsinghua University in Beijing. The university is part of a leading research and innovation cluster in Taiwan, along with nearby National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Space Organization, National Health Research Institutes, Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, National Center for High-Performance Computing, Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute, and Industrial Technology Research Institute. National Space Organization
Taiwan Space Agency (abbreviated TASA), formerly the National Space Organization (NSPO) from 1991 to 2023, is the national civilian space agency of Taiwan, under the auspices of the National Science and Technology Council. National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) is a public research university in Taipei and Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was created in 2021 through the merger of National Chiao Tung University and National Yang-Ming University. At present, there are 19 colleges, 74 university/college level research centers, and 1 hospital in Yilan. NYCU is one of six national universities in research selected by the Ministry of Education. Mei Yiqi
Mei Yiqi or Mei Yi-chi (; 29 December 1889 – 19 May 1962), courtesy name Yuehan (), was a Chinese politician, physicist and educator, who served two separate terms as Ministry of Education of the Republic of China, from 1948 to 1949 and from 1958 to 1961. He was additionally President of National Tsinghua University between 1931 and 1948, making him the university's longest serving president. Hsinchu (, ), officially Hsinchu City, is a city located in northwestern Taiwan. It is the most populous city in Taiwan that is not a special municipality, with estimated 450,655 inhabitants.
