National Library Of Mexico
The National Library of Mexico () is located in University City of Mexico, Ciudad Universitaria, the main campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. It was first established on November 30, 1867. As a national library it is the preeminent bibliographic repository of Mexico and is subject to legal deposit. It also attempts to acquire all foreign books published about Mexico. Its collection of 1,250,000 documents, including books, maps and recordings makes it one of the largest libraries in Mexico and Latin America. Newspapers and other periodicals are archived in the National Newspaper Library of Mexico (''Hemeroteca Nacional de México'') located also in Ciudad Universitaria, next to the facilities of the National Library. Divine Comedy
The ''Divine Comedy'' (, ) is an Italian narrative poetry, narrative poem by Dante Alighieri, begun and completed around 1321, shortly before the author's death. It is widely considered the pre-eminent work in Italian literature and one of the greatest works of Western literature. The poem's imaginative vision of the afterlife is representative of the medieval philosophy, medieval worldview as it existed in the Western Christianity, Western Church by the 14th century. The Miguel de Cervantes Virtual Library (MCVL; in , BVMC) is a large-scale digital library project, hosted and maintained by the University of Alicante in Alicante, Spain. It comprises the largest open-access repository of digitised Spanish-language historical texts and literature from the Ibero-American world. When officially launched in 1999, the BVMC was the first digital archive of Spanish-language texts on the internet, initially reproducing some 2,000 individual works by 400 of the most significant authors in Spanish, Latin American literary and Hispanic Africa. Gabino Barreda
Gabino Barreda (1818, Puebla – 1881, Mexico City) was a Mexican physician, philosophy, philosopher and politician oriented to French positivism. He served in both the Senate of the Republic (Mexico), Senate and the Chamber of Deputies (Mexico), Chamber of Deputies. After participating in the Mexican–American War defending his country as a volunteer, he studied medicine in Paris (1847–51). There he became acquainted with Auguste Comte's doctrine of positivism, before his first publications in philosophy. Upon returning to Mexico City, he introduced the positivistic school and taught in Guanajuato (1863–67) until the fall of the Maximilian I of Mexico, Maximilian empire. In 1867, he headed the educational commission of President Benito Juárez, where he was able to implement Comte's positivism in higher education.
