National Endowment For Democracy
The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organization in the United States founded in 1983 with the stated aim of advancing democracy worldwide and counter communism, communist influence abroad, by promoting political and economic institutions, such as Political organisation, political groups, Trade association, business groups, trade unions, and free markets. The NED was created as a bipartisan, private, non-profit corporation, but acts as a grant-making foundation. It is funded primarily by an annual allocation from the U.S. Congress. The Great Society was a series of domestic programs enacted by President Lyndon B. World Movement for Democracy (WMD) is an international network of individuals and organizations with the stated goal of promoting democracy.
