Nathaniel Henry "Nate" Jones (born August 18, 1972) is an American former Olympic and professional boxer. Nicknamed "The Snake", Jones won the National Golden Gloves 1994 and 1995 and the Heavyweight bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Amateur career * Winner of the Heavyweight bronze medal representing the United States at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Nathaniel Jones (19 April 1832 – 14 December 1905) was a Welsh Calvinistic Methodist minister and poet. Nathaniel Jones took his bardic name of "Cynhafal" from his birthplace of Llangynhafal, near Ruthin in Denbighshire, where the church is dedicated to Saint Cynhafal. He worked as a tailor, and later as a sales assistant, before becoming a preacher in 1859. Nathaniel Jones (February 17, 1788 Tyringham, Berkshire County, Massachusetts – July 20, 1866 Newburgh, Orange County, New York) was an American banker and politician from New York. He served two terms in the U.S. House from 1837 to 1841. Life About 1807, he removed to Warwick, New York, and taught school there for several years. Among his pupils was William H. Seward. Political career He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Orange Co.) in 1827 and 1828. Afterwards he engaged in banking. He was elected as a Democrat to the 25th and 26th United States Congresses, holding office from March 4, 1837 to March 3, 1841. Later career He was New York State Surveyor General from February 1842 to February 1845, and a Canal Commissioner from February 1845 to November 1, 1847, when he resigned. Nathaniel Jones (born August 23, 2001) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids. Early life Jones began playing youth soccer in local Gig Harbor leagues in his hometown, before joining the Harbor Premier and later Washington Premier FC. Jones attended Gig Harbor High School, where he earned All-League, All-County and All-State honors, while playing for the soccer team. College career In August 2019, he committed to attend the University of Washington to play for the men's soccer team in the fall of 2020. He made his collegiate debut on February 4, 2021 against the Northwest Eagles and made his first start on March 20, 2021 against the Stanford Cardinal.
