My Body (LSG Song)
"My Body" is a song by R&B group LSG released as the first single from their debut album '' Levert.Sweat.Gill''. It is the group's most successful song, spending seven weeks at number-one on the US R&B chart. It also reached number four on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in late 1997 for three weeks. It was one of the songs that was blocked from three songs in the top three, "How Do I Live" by LeAnn Rimes, Usher's " You Make Me Wanna...", and Elton John's smash "Candle in the Wind 1997". It was produced by Darrell "Delite" Allamby and written by Darrell "Delite" Allamby, Antionette Roberson, and Link. The remix version of the song features Missy Elliott. Fellow former group member Keith Sweat sings the song as a tribute to member Gerald LeVert appears on the live DVD, ''The Sweat Hotel'', and appeared on ''The Mo'Nique Show'', who performs a medley as the closing of the show in October 2010 as also part of the tribute to him during the closing credits. LSG (band)
LSG is an R&B supergroup, composed of R&B artists Gerald Levert from Cleveland, Ohio, Keith Sweat from Harlem, New York and Johnny Gill from Washington, D.C. The group's name "LSG" is derived from the first letter in the last name of each artist (Levert, Sweat, Gill). In 1997, LSG released their debut album titled ''Levert.Sweat.Gill''. With the chart-topping lead single " My Body", the album was quickly certified platinum. LSG released a follow-up final album in 2003 titled ''LSG2''. Johnny Gill announced on the September 12, 2013 episode of ''The Arsenio Hall Show'' that Eddie Levert, Gerald's father, will replace him as the "L" in LSG. Gerald Levert died in 2006. Gerald LeVert
Gerald Edward Levert (July 13, 1966 – November 10, 2006) was an American singer-songwriter and producer. Levert was best known for singing with his brother, Sean Levert, and friend Marc Gordon of the vocal group LeVert. Levert was also a member of LSG, a supergroup comprising Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, and himself. Levert is the son of Eddie Levert, who is the lead singer of the R&B/soul vocal group the O'Jays. He released nine solo albums, six with LeVert, two with his father Eddie Levert, two with LSG, as well as discovering the R&B groups the Rude Boys, Men at Large and 1 of the Girls. Stephen Ellis Garrett (November 11, 1974 – February 25, 2008), known professionally as Static Major (and previously as Static), was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Louisville, Kentucky.
