Muteness
Muteness or mutism () is defined as an absence of speech while conserving or maintaining the ability to hear the speech of others. Mutism is typically understood as a person's inability to speak, and commonly observed by their family members, caregivers, teachers, doctors or speech and language pathologists. It may not be a permanent condition, depending on the cause, which might be physical, medical, organic, psychological, developmental, neurological or traumatic. A specific physical disability or communication disorder can be diagnosed. Loss of previously normal speech (aphasia) can be due to accidents, disease, or surgical complication; it is rarely for psychological reasons. Treatment or management also varies by cause, determined after a speech assessment. Treatment can sometimes restore speech. Mute (short Story)
"Mute" is a horror short story by author Stephen King, first published in ''Playboy Magazine'' in 2007 and included in his collection ''Just After Sunset'' (2008). In 2011, British screenwriter Gemma Rigg bought the rights to adapt Mute into a short film directed by Jacqueline Wright and starring Patrick Ryecart, Hugh Ross and Michael Legge. Mute is the first Stephen King film to be shot entirely in Great Britain. Plot summary Monette, a middle-aged traveling book salesman (his first name is never given), goes to confession. When the priest asks him what sin he has committed, Monette admits that he believes he has sinned in some way but is not entirely sure exactly what he is guilty of. He then explains the events of the preceding days. While on the road, Monette picked up a hitchhiker carrying a sign proclaiming him to be both deaf and mute. Motu Mute is a island in the Bora Bora Islands Group, within the Society Islands of French Polynesia. It is the located between Havae and Tooparopae. The Island is the location of the Bora Bora Airport, with the runway starts and ends directly on the water. The airfield has a modern handling building in a local style. Pârvu Mutu (''Pârvu the Mute'', nickname of ''Pârvu Pârvescu''; 1657–1735) was a Wallachian Romanian muralist and church painter. He was born in the town of Câmpulung as the sixth son of the Orthodox priest Ioan Pârvescu, and began his career as a church painter at the age of 12. He lived some 40 years in Moldavia, returning to Wallachia in 1702. In 1718 he retired to the Mărgineni Monastery, the place where he died. Shō Gen
was king of the Ryukyu Kingdom from 1556 to 1572. He was called "Gen, the mute."Kerr, George H. (2000). The king required considerable support from the ''Sanshikan'' (Council of Three), the chief council of royal advisors. His reign marked the beginning of the council's demonstration of significantly greater effectiveness and efficiency than previously. Shō Gen received his official investiture from the Ming Court in 1562, and received emissaries from the Shimazu clan of the Japanese province of Satsuma in 1570 and 1572. The Shimazu wished to establish some control over the Ryukyus, making them either a tributary or a vassal state. The kingdom resisted the Shimazu overtures, and a small punitive mission launched by the Shimazu created a small skirmish on the island of Amami Ōshima in 1571, although the Ryukyuans defeated them. Múte Inequnaaluk Bourup Egede (; born 11 March 1987) is a Greenlandic politician currently serving as the seventh prime minister of Greenland, a position he has held since April 2021. He has served as a member of the Inatsisartut, the parliament of Greenland, since 2015, and furthermore as chairman of the Inuit Ataqatigiit party since 2018. Life and career Egede was born in Nuuk but grew up in Narsaq in southern Greenland. He attended high school in Qaqortoq before he in 2007 started studying Cultural and Social History at the University of Greenland. Between 2011 and 2012, he was the vice chairman of ''KISAQ'', the Greenlandic Academic Student Society. ''Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege'' is an online tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 1, 2015; the game was also released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S exactly five years later on December 1, 2020.
