Murrumbeena railway station is located on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Murrumbeena, and it opened on 14 May 1879. History Opening one month after the railway line from Caulfield was extended to Oakleigh, Murrumbeena station gets its name from Mirambena Road, its name believed to be derived from an Indigenous word meaning 'belonging to you', 'welcome', or 'land of frogs'. The name may also refer to an Indigenous member of the native police. A siding was once located at the Down end of Platform 2. In 1972, it was reduced in length and, in 1977, it was removed altogether. The Cranbourne line is a commuter rail service operated by Metro Trains Melbourne in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was presented alongside a live evangelistic lecture, given by Commandant Herbert Howard Booth. A 20-30 piece orchestra performed the original score, written by Major Robert McAnally. Historians consider ''Soldiers of the Cross'' to be a landmark in production in the development of the Australian film industry. ''Soldiers of the Cross'' included episodes from the life of Christ, as well as stories of early Christian martyrs. It aimed to stir audiences to religious devotion. Pakenham Railway Line
The Pakenham line is a commuter railway line in the city of Melbourne, Victoria. Operated by Metro Trains Melbourne, it is the longest metropolitan railway line at 57 km (35.42 mi). Coloured light blue on the Melbourne rail map, the line runs from Flinders Street station in central Melbourne to Pakenham station in the south-east, serving 27 stations via the City Loop, South Yarra, Caulfield, Oakleigh, and Dandenong. The line operates for ~20 hours a day (from approximately 4:00 am to around midnight) with 24 hour service available on Friday nights and weekends. During peak hour, headways of up to 6 to 12 minutes are operated with services every 20 minutes during off-peak hours. Trains on the Pakenham line run with a seven-car formation operated by HCMTs. The Division of Higgins is an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria for the Australian House of Representatives. The division covers in Melbourne's inner south-eastern suburbs. The main suburbs include , , , , , , , , and ; along with parts of , and . Though historically a safe conservative seat, Higgins was won by the Liberal Party by a margin of just 3.9 percent over the Labor Party at the 2019 election, the closest result in the seat’s history. It then flipped to Labor in the 2022 election.
