Morten Abel
Morten Abel Knutsen (born 15 October 1962), better known by his stage name Morten Abel is a Norwegian pop artist, and one of Norway's best-selling domestic artists. Career Morten Abel was born and grew up near Bodø, but moved to Stavanger when he was 15 years old. There he became the lead singer of a band called Catrix, which soon changed their name to "Mods". They released two albums in Norwegian language in 1981 and 1982, and had a big hit with a song called "Tore Tang". A third album in English language was released in 1984. After Mods split up, Abel released a solo single in 1985. Two years later he formed the band "The September When", which became very popular in Norway. The September When released four studio albums between 1989 and 1994. Two of their hits were "Bullet Me" and "Cries Like A Baby". ''Hodet over vannet'' is a Norwegian comedy thriller film by director Nils Gaup. It became a big success at the Norwegian box office. The September When
The September When is a Norwegian rock band. History The band was formed in Stavanger in 1987, by vocalist Morten Abel, guitarist Tor Øyvind Syvertsen and keyboardist Helge Hummervoll, all former members of the band Mods. They signed a recording contract with Warner Music in Norway, and released their self-titled debut album in 1989. The band line-up was broadened by the addition of bassist Gulleiv Wee and drummer Stene Osmundsen before the following tour. Syvertsen left the band the following year, and Morten Mølster took his place. The new line-up released their break-through album ''Mother I've Been Kissed'' in 1991. After releasing two more albums, ''One Eye Open'' in 1993 and ''HuggerMugger'' in 1994, The September When split up in 1996. The Nobel Peace Prize Concert ( Norwegian and Swedish: '')'' has been held annually since 1994 on 11 December, to honour the Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
