Mondragon, Vaucluse
Mondragon (; oc, Montdragon) is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. It is known primarily for the large Donzère-Mondragon Dam across the river Rhône named for it and the town of Donzère. It was once part of the Comtat Venaissin, an exclave of the Papal States. Manuel Mondragón
Manuel Mondragón (1859–1922) was a Mexican military officer who played a prominent role in the Mexican Revolution. He graduated from the Mexican Military Academy as an artillery officer in 1880. He designed the world’s first gas-operated semi-automatic rifle, the M1908 rifle, and a 75mm howitzer. General Mondragón was the father of a model, artist and poet Carmen Mondragón, better known as Nahui Ollin. Porfiriato As an adolescent Mondragón entered the Military Academy of Chapultepec, where he specialised in artillery. Upon finishing his studies, he worked developing military materiel. Mondragón Rifle
The Mondragón rifle refers to one of two rifle designs developed by Mexican artillery officer General Manuel Mondragón. These designs include the straight-pull bolt-action M1893 and M1894 rifles, and Mexico's first self-loading rifle, the M1908 - the first of the designs to see combat use. Straight-pull bolt-action rifles Mondragón began working on his initial rifle design in 1891. During his stay in Belgium, he filed a patent application for which he had received a grant on March 23, 1892 (No. 98,947). Mondragón was granted a further Patent on April 20, 1892 from the French Patent Office (No. 221,035). The Mondragon Bookstore & Coffeehouse was a political bookstore and vegan cafe located in The Old Market Autonomous Zone at 91 Albert Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The name comes from the Mondragón Cooperative Corporation and other organisations in the Basque town of Mondragón Spain that is known for its extensive network of worker's cooperatives. Mondragon was organized as a workers' collective with no hierarchy and all workers receiving the same wage rate. This was based on the economic structure of Parecon, developed by Robin Hahnel and Michael Albert. The firm closed on January 26, 2014, citing financial difficulties. The Mondragon Corporation is a corporation and federation of worker cooperatives based in the Basque region of Spain. It was founded in the town of Mondragon in 1956 by José María Arizmendiarrieta and a group of his students at a technical college he founded. Its first product was paraffin heaters. It is the seventh-largest Spanish company in terms of asset turnover and the leading business group in the Basque Country. Michael Mondragon is an American former professional wrestler best known under the ring name Disco Machine. He was one of the six founders of the Southern Californian independent promotion, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Professional wrestling career Disco Machine kicked off his wrestling career working for Revolution Pro, a prominent SoCal promotion, in 1998. In 2003, he became one of the six owners of brand new SoCal promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, collectively known as the "PWG Six".
